The man who runs the place is so kind and helpful. He is very friendly and accomodating. The location couldn't be better- it is located right on the main square. Breakfast is big and delicious, and very traditional German. Staying here was perfect for our one night in town and I would recommend it to anyone.

The goldenes lamm is a cheap hotel in a great location in Rothenburg. The staff is nice, and the owner seems keen to keep his guests happy. However the rooms are small, it hasn't been renovated in a long time and there is no A/C. If travelling in the summer, do consider the lack of A/C a problem. Any other... More

I didn't stay in this hotel, but visited Rothenburg with a tour group and found the restaurant associated with the hotel when we were looking for a bite for lunch. I thought the food was okay, but the service was very slow. It was hard to find our server even when it came time to pay the bill. I ordered... More

This review is on the Hotel's restaurant and not on the accommodations. Bottom Line: the restaurant is a typical tourist trap that puts forth very little effort to impress. The food is highly mediocre and small in portions. The spatzle was chewy, the schnitzel was dry and bland, and the service was average at best. The location is convenient to... More

We didn't check out other hotels around the square until after our stay. There were certainly more updated and more upscale hotels around but we were very comfortable here. The workers were very friendly and spoke English. We parked just behind hotel, nice to see our car from hotel room. We went on the night watchman tour at 8pm and... More

We stayed 2 magical nights here in June 2013. We chose it so we could be in the midst of the old town after the crowds had left. We were not just in the city. We were on the main square!!!! It was everything we had hoped. The room was cozy, the beds comfy. a private bath. a charming view... More

Visiting Rothenburg was a great experience, and this hotel was great choice. First, it's extremely well located, right at the town's main square. Second, the restaurant serves delicious food. Now, the rooms are spacious and comfortable but the one we had seemed a bit outdated. Anyway, it wasn't a big problem, the to is so nice that we didn't spend much... More

This hotel is not fancy. There is no lobby. You check in at the restaurant. No frills at all. Very basic rooms. The rooms were clean, light, and quite. They were small but I have stayed in several hotels in Rothenberg and they all are small. Old buildings, plus added bathrooms take up space in the rooms but in my... More

We spent Christmas in Rothenburg. The location of the hotel is excellent being on the main square of the Old Town and within walking distance of all the tourist sites and attractions. Great restaurants nearby although the hotel's restaurant was excellent. Wonderful dinners. Dario and Lothar were great attendants/waiters and added baubles to our impromptu Christmas tree that we placed... More

recommended by a friend, we turned up on motorcycles and asked about parking, guy was useless and told us to go to the pay and display. Eventually found a carpark at back of hotel, surely he knew it was there!!!!!. Room was fine as it had just been refurbished, but the inside of the hotel is dark and dingy. Next... More
