This hotel is family owned and operated. Built in 1536 it is quaint and comfortable. No wifi or English TV but the wonderful host and breakfast made up for it. It is one if the few hotels with parking at the rear. Consider taking the carriage ride through the old town, it is informative and beats walking just looking in... More

We stayed at Hotel Spitzweg during our mini-honeymoon and I can honestly say that we got really lucky to have booked it. It is a little gem right where it has to be but not in the middle of the craziness. Our room was cozy, warm and has this old (in all the good ways) feel. The bathroom was huge... More

This hotel was probably one of the most amazing places I've ever stayed in all of my travels. The attention to detail, spacious room, and massive bathroom made for a very comfortable stay in a town dedicated to Christmas. The location is perfect to truly experience this village. We had an excellent night's sleep following by a breakfast that I... More

As the title suggests we were thrilled with the location, and as we were driving, parking was very easy. Nice to just leave the car and walk. Lovely old hotel full of character, the landlord was lovely (although rather gruff at first), have to say that we didn't love the room or bed but for one night it was perfectly... More

Brilliant location if you like staying in the old towns. There is parking for about 10 cars. Breakfast is a good typical German breakfast. Staff are flexible to make what you want and are very cheerful. Walking distance to everything . if your into wearing Birkenstocks, this is the cheapest you will find them anywhere . Have a look at... More

My wife and I traveled in the spring through Alsace and Germany. going from one beautiful town to the next. Our last stop before flying home was in Rothenberg where we stayed at the Hotel Spitzweg. The best word to describe the hotel is "Magical" We entered and received the best an warmest welcome ever from Walter who wouldn't speak... More

You have the feeling of stepping back in time when you walk into the hotel. You will be personally greeted by the owner Herr Hocker and shown a parking space. Our room was decorated with German charm, and we lacked for nothing. The hotel is situated conveniently within the castle walls, yet not on a main busy street. Breakfast was... More

We stayed in the hotel for one night on our way from Wurzburg to Fuessen. The Hotel is located in a very old building. Rooms are well furnished and clean. Large modern bathroom. The owner and the staff are friendly and helpful. Private parking (rarity in Rothenburg).

It is hard to imagine a better place to stay in Rothenburg ob der Tauber. This small family-operated hotel is in a perfect location for everything there is to see in Rothenburg. While the rooms are small, they are spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. The proprietor, Herr Hocker, personally prepares the most amazing breakfast of cold meats, cheeses, fresh bread... We stayed at this hotel on 10/05/13, 1 night as part of our package, "3 Days Frankfurt to Munich- Romantic Road". This is a quaint hotel, the owner is so friendly it give you the feeling that you are part of their family visiting for a night more like a B & B. The breakfast is great and it is... More
