Rothenburg altogether is not to be missed. It's perhaps hard to dissociate the wonders of Rothenburg from the wonders of any place one stays in this town, but it's probably not necessary. Apparently there are at least a dozen wonderful old places like this one where you can stay. We felt lucky, however, to have happened on this place. The... More

This hotel is in a building aged at about 800 years and beautifully decorated. The rooms on the 2nd floor facing the front have large windows that open to lovely view over blooming flower boxes. A suit of armour stood guard over the large foyer. A whimsical carousel horse graces the lobby, while playful blue sheep stand in the lovely... More

My family of four (2 adults and 2 teens) stayed at the Family Apartment. It was good sized (2 separate bedrooms) and very comfortable. We chose BurgGartenpalais over the sister property (Burg Hotel) because it has airconditioning. It turned that we did not need the AC during our stay (mid-July) but I can imagine that it would be very unpleasant... More

Excellent Very warm welcome shown to our room and helped carry our bags, beautiful old building but the rooms are modern air conditioning, fridge, TV, phone, and free wifi. Not a great deal of choice at breakfast buffet but that's no biggy Really handy for sight seeing and close to the main square perfect place to stay Restaurant serves great food... More

We stayed in this hotel in july. The reason we choose this hotel is because its the only hotel with airconditioning and it was needed. The hotel is old, but the rooms are superb. Beautiful bathroom with powerful water, nice bed and a privat parking what is nice in this medieval town. Breakfast is big and fresh, and has everything... More

Close your eyes and picture a 700 year old hotel on a cobblestone street in a picturesque walled in German fairy tale town, with window boxes spilling over with colorful flowers, a lovely garden with gazebo and wishing well, helpful staff, very clean, incredible decor and a perfect location within the city. You are now in Hotel BurgGartenpalais. Exceeded our... More

Don't expect a modern, chain-hotel kind of thing. Burggartenpalais is a small, cute and cozy hotel, where it is pretty much decorated as a winter/ski hotel. The staff is friendly, the breakfast is quite delicious with decent variety of food. The rooms are OK, nothing to complain but nothing to fall in love with. The best thing about the hotel... More

I cannot fault this hotel. The staff were friendly, helpful, and pleasant. They even helped me sort out my prepaid SIM card problems. The building itself is fascinating, beautiful, and as neat as a pin. I'm not sure I have ever seen a hotel room as clean as this one. It was immaculate. I dined at the restaurant in the... More

We stayed only one night in this darling place on the Herrngasse right in the old town. The room was fantastic, new decor, old fashioned style. The hotel itself is in an old building but includes a lift and very clean and well kept. The staff very friendly and helpful. The location was superb, near the Rathaus and shopping district.... More

I had a picture of a quintessential German/Bavarian small town with an authentic hotel in the middle of town. This town and hotel exceeded my expectations! The service if phenomenal. We were met at the door by the most friendly elderly man who offered to help us with our lugguge and offer us help with parking. They knew at once... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
It is not difficult to find a room for the nights in Rothenburg. One of the loveliest is to be found in the Herrngasse. It goes without saying that to live in a building from the Middle Ages has its attractions. Not luxurious, perhaps, but very comfortable, yet homely in the best sense. The atmosphere is welcoming and friendly, so that an enjoyable stay is assurd. One of the oldest nobleman`s house with individual and stylish interior. ... more   less
