Arrived at hotel situated on main street, looked very nice, typical of the area, the reason it was chosen, but were directed to an annexe across the street. Very modern, clean, small, but not the characterful Bavarian hotel that we thought we would be staying in. Breakfast was back across the road in the hotel, which was good, and the... More

The manager, Hildegarde, enthusiastically welcomed us to her hotel. The hotel is located 5 minutes walk from the town square. Stayed in the family room which contains 2 large size bedrooms, large bathroom, entrance area, etc. car parking (in a secure garage) & wifi Internet available for €5 each. Stayed 1 night. Breakfast included. Restaurant located inside hotel offers range... More

Haus Appelberg has beautiful rooms which are clean & comfortable. The owners are so friendly and knowlegeable. Their warmth & cheer created a convival atmosphere that encouraged fellow travellers to have great conversations and share interesting stories and tips. My daughter's luggage was delayed in Paris & the airline was trying to get it to her. The owner of Appelhaus,... More

This hotel was a real find on our trip up the Romantic Road in Bavaria. Friendly service, excellent rooms (we booked a triple room and ended up in a two room suite!), good food and in the centre of this very pretty town.

Spent a night here, in a very large, beautifully furnished room, with one of the largest, brightest bathrooms we've seen. Very comfortable bed, lovely traditionally painted furniture and a comfortable sitting area. Dinner was very good, typical German food from the area and there was a good range of foods provided for breakfast. Staff was friendly and professional. And you... More

We spent two nights here and really enjoyed our stay here and in Dinkelsbühl itself, which is a beautiful little town. The hotel owners are friendly and accommodating, the hotel is in an old traditional-looking building typical of the town, and our room was spacious and immaculately clean. The bathroom in particular was very large with a good modern shower.... More

We had a very nice one night stay in this hotel. Very clean and nicely appointed, with a very good restaurant on premises (the local Montchausen was excellent). It's a beautiful little walled town, with flowered gardens, shops and restaurants all within easy walk.

We spent 2 nights here on a Romanic Road bike trip. Our room, 7a, was huge. There is a garage for cars and bikes. We ate both nights in the restaurant, plus breakfast in the morning. The town is quieter and smaller than Rothenburg, and perhaps more authentic. The surrounding countryside is good for cycling. The tourist info centre near... More

We booked this hotel the night before and were very lucky as we got the last room which happened to be the family room - two twin beds and a HUGE four poster all painted in traditional Bavarian designs with matching wardrobe. Beds were extremely comfortable, bathroom was huge by European standards and the windows opened so we could get... More

Dinkelsbühl in many respects is more authentic in the romantic road. About 45 percent of Rothenburg the most famous city of this road was damaged in World War II, while Dinkelsbühl and nearby Nördlingen escaped relatively unscathed. Dinkelsbühl is a dreamy little village that dates to at least the 10th century, when sections of the wall first went up. Today,... More
