Still to spend the night in our room. Room is nice and so far quiet. However previous reviews have commented on the nightly noise. I asked for a guarantee of a quiet night when I booked, but the hotel never responded. We also have ear plugs provided in our room. Hmmm. Restaurant gets a very good write-up - apart from... More

Regensburg has a lot of hotels and that is justified by the city. Hotels have difficulty to differentiate. There is little choice in price or setup. This is spot-on in the middle of the range. For me it is always positive to be in aan older building when I visit a historic city. I paid a 105 for a descend... More

How do you know you're in trouble? Let me count the ways! 1. You know you're in trouble when, upon check in, you learn that the elevator in the hotel (which is prominently mentioned in Roter Hahn advertising) only goes to the second floor of the five floor hotel. 2. You know you're in trouble when you walk into your... More

We visited Regensburg to take part in the Ironman triathlon. A comfortable Hotel which was happy to accommodate both us and our bicycles, in addition to see ing us breakfast before the race at 04h00. Our room was large and comfortable, if not al little outdated and in need of a freshen up. However, if you can see past this,... More

We stayed for one night while on a cycle tour. The owner let us park our bike in his very secure garage. The owner spoke very good English. Our room was 101, at the front of the building, overlooking the street. Very nice room, small but good bathroom. We had an excellent dinner at the restaurant. The breakfast was very... More

We took a bike trip along the Danau/Danube recently, and the cycling company reserved a room for us at the Hotel Roter Hahn. After the so-so hotels the cycling company had reserved for us earlier in the week, we weren't expecting to find anything special here, so we were pleasantly surprised to find the Hotel Roter Hahn to be as... We stayed here for a couple of nights in October 2013 as part of a tour of southern Germany. The hotel itself is an old building, nicely modernised in the "boutique hotel" style. Our room was large and clean and only the bathroom revealed the 1970's style hotel that I guess was once there. The location is both the strength... More

A lift took us up a certain amount but then a struggle to get up another couple of floors with no lift. However a big thanks for my son and husband to carry my bags. I never would have made it. Room at the top floor given as there were 3 of us. Hotel so handy to everything. Room so... More

All things good about this hotel...location, clean, yummy breakfast, parking (although a bit steep at 15 euros). Only complaint is their wifi. Had to sit in the lobby for access although they advertise free wifi. Couldn't get it in our room. Spectacular city, nice staff and accommodating...

The hotel is located directly in the historic center of the city, very close to every attraction and to bus stops. Every point of interest in the historic center can be reached by food. Nice coffee bars and restaurants are located nearby. Parking is limited, due to the location. My single room was small, but cosy and clean. As usual,... More
