This hotel is just a few minutes walk from the walled city. There is onsite parking, which is best to reserve ahead. Parking is tight. Very nice room withsmall fan. Breakfast best we had in Germany. As others have written, not much on outside, but dont let that put you off. After all, you are there for the old city.... More

This is a good hotel for a 3 star. Location is perfect, just a few minutes walk from the old town. The rooms are a reasonable size with comfortable beds. Service is also very good, friendly and helpful. The outstanding thing about this hotel, however, is the breakfast buffet which is outstanding and beats many others I've had at much... More

It was a kind of strange feeling when arriving to the place: old and not pretty from outside and in a normal flats neighborhood. Parking was also strange and a little bit too much clumsy. But entering the place everything changed:lady of the reception very friendly, room very nice, and very close to the castle. Breakfast was incredibly good! A... More

Stayed here on a week long business trip to Herzogenaurach. It took a little finding, the SatNav got confused a bit. Has its own car park, but best to book a spot before arriving as it it quite small (it's not free, but it is cheap). Inside is a bit dated, but it added to its charm, I liked it,... More

We really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Burgschmiet when we travelled to Nuremberg in March 2014 to visit a friend. Yes the breakfast is first class but so was the room, the shower and the service at reception and throughout. The location of the hotel is ideal for visiting the old town. The journey from the airport was very... More

We spent three nights at the Burgschmiet and were overall very satisfied. They accepted our dog without a problem (a Belgian shepherd, so not a particularly small one). Staff at reception (both the girl who checked us in during the afternoon and the other one who was there in the morning) was very kind and helpful. The location is great:... More

If you're planning to spend a romantic few days in Nuremburg (omg who would do that?) this is not the ideal hotel for you. However, if you're looking for a quick stop over hotel with a better than average breakfast, this going to fulfill all your needs. The staff are nice, the rooms are dated, but clean, and you're a... Stayed here for two nights during Christmas season. Very nice 3 star hotel, we needed a quad and it was roomy, clean and updated. Breakfast buffet was great- fresh and huge selection. Hotel is a block outside of walled city in quiet residential area, but only 10 minute walk to Christmas market. Would highly recommend and definitely would stay here... More

With only 39 rooms, this is a friendly place for travellers and especially those who are planning to see the Nuremburg Christmas market and museums in the city. The rooms are very clean. The hotel's breakfast buffet, included in the room price, is outstanding. In fact, eat a big breakfast and you don't need to eat again until dinner. The... More

An overall OK hotel. We had a nice small room, though somewhat dated (the bathroom especially). The room was quiet and clean - all you need for a one-night stay. The only downside are the pillows (paper-thin). The breakfast really is as good as all the other reviewers write - a vast selection and good quality. The old town is... More
