This hotel is oficially ***, but in some ways ****. The reception is the smallest we have ever experienced, but check in was fast and friendly. We had a suite, a small living room, and a bedroom. The furniture was probably old, but they had put white fabric over, so it looked ok. The writing table and the cabinet for... More

Dear guest, Thank you very much for appreciating the location, the staff as well as the breakfast at our historical Hotel. In your room we combine original and restored antique furniture ( the closet, an excellent late Biedermeier piece from 1840 as well as the side tables) with contemporary furniture ( the desk) - all done in massive European cherry... Just had two nights here as a family of five, and thought it was very convenient for exploring the city. The staff were very helpful, the breakfast delicious and varied, and the beds were comfortable! Nuremberg is just outside the door, enjoy!

I will start with breakfast. The breakfasting room had classical European style and an appropriate amount of trademark German kitsch. The buffet featured a large selection of foods, from multiple cold cuts and cheeses, to eggs, bacon, sausage, breads, yogurt and an array of fresh fruits. To drink, one was offered freshly made coffee or tea of nearly every variety.... More

Built nearly 125 years ago, Deutscher Kaiser offers few modern amenities. There are no automatic doors or magnetic keys. You have to manually lock your room and hand over the bulky metallic key at the reception when you go out. But step out of the hotel and you will realize that you are staying at the right place. The historic... More

Stayed there for one night on business. This is a little gem, price is reasonable and it is in a good location. I walked from train station to the hotel (around 10 minutes walk) and it is right next to a church, and it is within walking distance to most restaurants/attractions. They serve very good selection of breakfast, and coffee... More

This is definitely a split-personality type hotel. There are the good, the reasonable and the downright ugly aspects. Here are the good points. Interesting old building well positioned in Nuremberg's old town and near restaurants bars and the main station. Nice staff. Now the reasonable. I had reserved a deluxe room that is best described as a normal room. Fair... More

We first stayed at the "Deutscher Kaiser" in 2002 when we got married in Nürnberg, and we've retuned just about every year since for short visits with our growing family. Two things make the DK different than any other hotel in Nurnberg: first and foremost, the exceptionally friendly and attentive staff, coupled with a very cozy décor and atmosphere that... More

The hotel is a historical building with great location. It is very close to the central train station, and is located within the old city and within walking distance to the Christmas market. The hotel offers breakfast buffet with sufficent variety. The hotel staff speak fluent English. However, it seems the room rate is higher than that of nearby hotels.

A reviewer mentioned this hotel being a little "worn", and I would agree with that. But, the location and the staff and the breakfast buffet offset that for us. Easy walk from the train station and excellent accessibility to all the old town venues and restaurants.

We wanted to be close to the Altstadt so that the car could be dispensed with. This hotel is about as close as it gets. It's easy to find with SatNav bringing you to the front of the hotel. Yes, the hotel is a little worn perhaps. I think this adds to its charm. Yes, there is no aircon but... More
