I and 5 other Brits went to Franconia for the beer culture and stayed over night in the Steichele Hotel in the old town of Nuremberg. The hotel is modestly priced for bed and breakfast and has its own restaurant for lunch and dinner. I had a single room which had a single bed, TV and en-suite shower and WC.... More

Having visited Nuremberg man times, this was my first stay at this hotel, very well located in the old tow and at stone throw from the subway station. The staff is very very nice, rooms are a bit small but very clean. The best is the very old historical restaurant with excellent German food and wines ! Must try it....And... More

Right in the heart of the old city near the White Tower. Lovely old world style and look but comfortable rooms (great beds) and very clean. The only drawback are the 10 Watt bulbs in the light fixtures - no night time reading here. We loved being near three cathedrals whose bells we could hear in the early evening and... More

Excellent location and helpful staff. Hotel has a wonderful Bavarian restaurant with an accommodating maitre de who got us a table on a very busy Friday night. Breakfast buffet was superb and our dinner in the restaurant also was great. Our room was disappointing--small with poor lighting that made it very difficult to read. The two bunk beds (on opposite... More

Hotel Steichele was not my first choice but after leaving booking a little late it appeared the best option for a couple wanting a traditional hotel as opposed to a modern functional type of place. We were not disappointed in any sense. A short walk from the metro, although finding our bearings after exiting the station was not easy. Check-in... More

A hidden gem in a city full of hotels. Reasonable price, small but much more than adequate, wonderful breakfast, homey atmosphere, with a staff that makes you feel like family. We have eaten in their restaurant twice before, but due to limited time, were unable to eat there this time, they are closed on Sunday's. Walking distance to Christmas markets,... More

We have known the Steichele for 10 years, when 2 of us stayed here for the first time. This time, seven of our family (varying in ages from 3 to 73) stayed for the weekend. We all loved it there - easy access from the airport, great location to the Xmas Market, varied shops on the way to the market... More

My family went to Bavaria to sample the Christmas fairs and stayed here one night. The hotel is simple, very clean and the staff most accommodating. The breakfast was included and very good, typical for a German hotel. They have a cozy bar, with a wide selection of wines by the glass. The location is close enough from the train... More

The hotel is old and the rooms are purely maintained, heating not working (it was close to zero at night), shower leaking, holes in the wall and no safe. The front desk is also working in the wine bar and restaurant so they are never there there is a bell to call them but really every time? At least I... More

Stayed here for a few days in October on business. Room adequate and comfortable, good bathroom and quiet most of the time at night. Breakfast good, plenty of choice. Restaurant very good, with very good local dishes. The small bar was yery cosy and friendly. WiFi not very good though, but only 5 mins away from station, and located in... More
