This hotel was even nicer than we expected... a little gem tucked away from the city. I would not recommend it if you're on a tight schedule or traveling alone because it was further away from Munich than expected. However, if you're looking for a retreat in a quaint location, then this is it. The customer service was excellent. The... More

We stayed at this beautiful hotel last summer on a trip to Germany and absolutely loved it. Don't be deterred by the fact that it's not in city centre. The S bahn is very close by and parking onsite makes it easy to have a car and travel through Bavaria. The owners were fantastic, breakfast was delicious and the rooms... More

This hotel is located on the outskirts of Munich. It is about a 5 minute walk to the S bahn station, which runs every 20 minutes (on weekends) into the center of Munich. The train ride into the center of town takes less than 15 minutes. We were able to buy tickets directly from the front desk. The rooms were... More

Myself and three friends stayed at the Grunwald for two nights whilst visiting the Christmas Markets in Munich. It was my first visit to Germany and I cannot speak highly enough of the friendly and very accommodating people. We travelled from the airport by train and purchased a group ticket from the station for 21 euros for up to 5... More

We recently traveled to Munich for a short get away and the Christmas markets. We stayed at this hotel and all I can say is FANTASTIC experience. We booked the hotel less than 1 week before we left the US. It is a small, family run for over 100 years. it was an easy 5 minute walk from the Aubing... More

The hotel is only 7 stops from Munich central station in a lovely village setting. It is family run, the rooms are spotlessly clean, the breakfast is excellent. The family will go out of their way to be helpful, they printed out train timetables for us which saved us a lot of time for connections we needed at the central... More

I chose this hotel based on the fact that's it's a little out of the city in a small town and also because of the excellent TA reviews. I cannot speak highly enough about the people who own and run this hotel. Everyone we spoke to were so very helpful and friendly - before we even got to Germany I... More

All the good things that the other reviews have said are true. I would stay here again. However, I would not choose the room we had (235). The road was quite noisy and the room was very dark - only bed lights (fine when you're in bed) and one dim light on the side wall - with dark carpets, dark... More

Hotel was very quaint and cozy. The gentlemen at the front desk was so polite and even told us about the train ticket options they had to use the metro. He gave us the free wifi password and login without even us having to ask for it :). Our room was very comfy, loads of space, bathroom was super nice... More

I can't recommend this place enough. It is simply perfection. Our room was wonderfully designed with pretty much everything a reasonable traveler could desire (I say reasonable because there are always going to be people who are determined to find fault with something). My husband and I could not have been happier. We chose this based on other reviews and... More
