We stayed at the Sofitel for four nights in June this year. The hotel is literally about 100 feet from the main train station so you can't ask for better ...no taxi required! At first we thought that the area might not be as nice, but it was - very clean and safe ..the Meridien, another five star, is just... more

we loved this sofitel: the spa's pool (with waterfall and whirpool), sauna, steam bath and relaxtion room were all free to guests and right on the premises. the location was wonderful because we did a day trip to Dachau Concentration Camp and also another day trip through the Alps to Innsbruck ,Austria, from the train station which is just next... more

Although the room was clean and the bed comfortable, the reception staff were rude, arrogant and unwelcoming, and completely spoiled the surroundings. Any hotel, nevermind a 5 star, is in the business of customer service. Sofitel Bayerpost has forgotten the customer, and is too concerned with aloof trendiness at the expense of customer service. The hotel is fine for 1... more

I stayed at the Sofitel for 4 nights for business. I never stayed in such a big hotel in munich with that excellent service. Starting at the valet parking / check in / Concierge/ and F&B, I feeled always LUXURY Service. Of course, you have to pay a little bit more than somewere else, but there is a very big... more

It is a very nice hotel with excellent facilities, proximity to everything, incl. central DB station literally a few dozens meters away, which is convenient when travelling among cities, outstanding spa area with fancy swimming pool, sauna and ice fountaine. Breakfast really impressed. At dinner they literally "licked" us allover, the service level one would expect somewhere in Mandarin Oriental... more

We stayed for three nights on a Citybreak. Overall , we had a great time (despite it raining a lot!) As for the Sofitel, the rooms are nice - the bed in particular is very comfy. The hotel is "trendy" and nicely designed. What let the hotel down was the Front Desk staff who were both unfriendly and unhelpful whenever... more

The location is excellent for travellers only 150 meter off the railway station. The city centre is a 7 min walk away. The staff is friendly and correct, although a "bonjour" always sounds strange when in Germany. The rooms are very nice. The bathrooms are tight but smart built and with both normal and rain shower possibilites. The bed was... more

My husband booked a trip for us along with his brother and parents to visit Munich & Salzburg for a few days. He picked the Sofitel especially because of it's proximity to the central train station and because it was a nicer hotel than average (judging only by viewing online prior to trip.) His brother liked his room and the... more

Most of the large chains have taken up the 'design' concept in recent years and this is a clear example of one getting it right (many have failed). The hotel is well situated, close to the main railway station. It is fundimentally a conference/business hotel - which was highlighted by the number of 'suits' around. The staff are friendly and... more

It seemed to us during our 3-night stay at Sofitel Munich, that Sofitel’s corporate objective is something like “taking hospitality to the level of perfection”. Not only is the hotel design very grand, but it is also functional. Bathroom floors are properly heated, TV speaker systems are Bose, even small coffee-making machine in the room is Nespresso. The swimming pool... more
