This campsite is very centrally located in Munich and also very close to public transport. The zoo is a 10 min walk awaay so it's very convenient for tourists. You have to pay for hot water and internet is available at the reception. The camp sites are very free form but there are plenty of options to choose from. The... More

This campsite is very central. They have a FREE shuttle bus to the train then it's only 8 stops to the centre of Munch. Great size pitches, great facilities and reasonably cheap at only €23 for a campervan and two adults. However you have to pay for water = €2 for 100litre. Wifi is €1 for half an hour and... More

Arrived late on June 29 2014 by bicycles in the rain. Man at desk insisted on taking and keeping a passport as part of their system. We offered to give them a card instead with our name on it but he refused and told us to leave if we didn't hand over the passport. In the end we reluctantly gave... More

Visited this site on 5.6.14 on the advice of a friend. Good points; close to city centre, close the Isar river. Bad points; expensive, money grabbing, not value for money, facilities like toilets/showers not clean, pitches incredibly small and narrow whereby neighbours caravan/motorhome windows can touch when opened together. No thought for safety re fire, no thought for privacy. Just... More

Me and my friends stayed here with PP Travel for the opening weekend of Oktoberfest, our coach arrived at the campsite 3 hours late which was annoying as we'd already been traveling from London since 1pm on Thursday, arriving at midday we expected all the breakfast places closed up and such but our guide on our bus phoned ahead asking... I have to disagree with the review below as I would really not recommend Pillow. The campsite itself was great - really conveniently located, okay bathroom facilities, etc. Would definitely recommend it as a base for Oktoberfest. However, Pillow Travel, the travel group that we booked with, were pretty poor. They had advertised free shuttle buses to and from Oktoberfest,... More

I stayed at the Thalkirchen campsite over the first weekend of Oktoberfest this year with Pillow Travel. As camping goes, this was luxurious! We were provided with tents with air beds, and there were toilet/shower blocks everywhere! If you're expecting a silent countryside campsite with no loud drunk people, don't go here. Actually just don't go to Oktoberfest at all!... More

We stayed here because we were going to watch a game at the Allianz Arena in Munich. It is in a good location with good transport into the city of Munich. You have to pay for everything such as hot water and showers.A lot of the toilet blocks were closed even during August which was a bit of a pain when going... Location is worth it, right on the river! Short walk to train station, this takes you directly into the centre of Munich. Despite its size the campsite is very quiet. Reception was very helpful. Have to pay for use of hot water anytime (shower, washing dishes etc). Toilet very dirty at night. Need to be cleaned more often due to... More

We found this place by accident, had only been planning to stop over in munich for one night but decided to stay for 4 as it was so stunning. The campsite is large and busy in august, but well organised- despite this we got given a pitch number and completely left to it which was perfect. It's surrounded by woodlands... More
