Was here with a group for Oktoberfest for the weekend and was a bit taken back by the locall surroundings. Yes it's walking distnace from the station and the Oktoberfest site, but it also the location for lap dancing clubs and bars of a more 'adult' nature. The Astor offers an exceptional breakfast with quality buffet-style choices...the best breakfast I have experienced in 5 recent trips to Europe. I have stayed at this hotel several times and always enjoy my stay. The rooms are top notch and the employees are the best and will do anything to make your stay more enjoyable. I HIGHLY recommend this hotel if you stay in the Munich area....... more

We stayed here during Oktoberfest. All we were looking for was a relaively inexpensive clean hotel close to the festival grounds. We were pleasantly surprised as it ended up to be an excellent hotel. I have stayed at the Astor many times and never been disappointed. You will get one of the best breakfasts in Europe .. Really! The hotel is situated 5 mins walk from the Haupt Banhof in a safe area which is not made noisey from passing traffic.
