Expensive, but that was expected during the peak Oktoberfest period. Room was clean, small, nothing fancy, very basic. Service excellent. Rooms facing the main street get quite a bit of noise from the foot traffic and people hanging around outside. Centrally located, five minutes from the subway, about 45 minutes from the airport. more

I spent 3 nights with friends and then 1 night on my own at Hotel Mark! The staff were beyond willing to be helpful and accomodating. It is very close to the main station and only a 10-15 minute stroll to Marienplatz. The breakfast is well above-average of those that you would find coming inclusive... plentiful and diverse. We stayed at the Mark hotel for 2 nights, we drove to Munich from Reutte, Austria and since the hotel has parking (paid but still much less than the city rates) we decided to stay here, once again following Rick Steves suggestions. This place was ok. I stayed here because it was close to the train station. If you are a light sleeper, take a back room. This appears to be a poor hotel, judging from my single room, even considering its good points. It had a bad feel, from the dark, dismal lobby, to the hallways (with the most noticeable thing being the reinforced door locks), to the spartan and unpleasant interior of the room, to the tiny wash basin lacking space to put my toiletry... more
