Easy to get to on the S-bahn, quiet neighborhood, staff were helpful & the perk of getting a 3-day travel card when we checked in was nice. Room was fine for 2 people for sleeping, liked having a refrigerator and a kettle for tea. Breakfast was decent. We didn't have high expectations but booked based on getting a great rate... more

I was unsure what to expect when I saw the hotel photos but I knew I only needed a place to crash for 5-6 hours. My suspicion became reality when I entered the hotel. Very outdated 70's style, smelly hallway, filthy carpet in my room with numerous stains and disgusting smell coming from the bathroom drain. My friend's room looked... more

I had to stay at Derag a week and I didn't like there. The rooms are very tight, it's very smelly in rooms and on the halls. They have single beds, too small for a good sleep. As for the cleaning part, I guess it can be better (I've found a lot of cigarettes butts in the balcony) more

Booked through Hotwire. Best rate including breakfast you can get in Munich, close to subway station with a pleasant walk. The Staff are nice and the hotel is very much ok for the money. Only 1 regular experience (when they tried to make me pay for breakfast as I was leaving, when in fact my rate inlcuded breakfast) but other... more

First off, what's good: the location. Near the Rosenheimer Platz S-Bahn. Easy for traveling to/from the airport, Hauptbahnhof, the City Center. Walking distance to many attractions. English-language movie theater nearby, as well as shopping and some decent restaurants. What's less good: everything else. The Max Emanuel is in dire need of renovation. Old, peeling wood paneling, uncomfortable furniture, crappy bathroom.... more

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. Its location is excellent, very close to the city centre and has direct train connection to the airport. Nice area with lots of shops and supermarkets. Some rooms have little kitchenettes but not all. The hotel interiors are a bit tired and stuffy. The room furniture is standard for a 3 star... more

We stayed in Derag Hotel Max Emanuel for a night during our weekend trip to Munich. The hotel has a very excellent position, very close to s-bahn station where all s-bahn trains stop. This means that you are directly connected to centre, to airport and to city surroundings. However the hotel is quite old and furnished in a very unattractive... more

Room: Basic room with kitchentte. 2 single beds pushed together, 1 moderate-sized window. Parking: Easy metered street-parking right outside. Transportation: Metro/subway very close, a few stops to tourist center. Staff: Friendly, helpful. Location: Not in city's tourist center, but a quick metro/subway hop away, maybe 10 minutes, or 4 stops, from central Munich sights. Numerous restaurants and hotels nearby. Breakfast:... more
