Stayed for three nights at the Herzog and thoroughly enjoyed it. The street noise is the one real negative, next time I would ask for a room on the back but it certainly didn't spoil our stay. I have stayed at hostels that were 10 times nicer than Hotel Herzog. Although we had very few choices around Oktoberfest, paying $270 a night to stay here was ridiculous. Herzog is getting a bit tired and could probably do with a really good spring clean. But if you want somewhere cheap and convenient for sleeping only, then it does the job. Lack of aircon can be a problem in summer. The bar is never well stocked. Breakfast is excellent. more
