I stayed in the Sheraton Westpark for Oktoberfest. It was very convenient - only a ten minute walk to the tents. We arrived early and our room was not yet ready so we paid a little extra to go up to an executive level room right away. The room was comfortable and clean. We found this hotel excellent both in terms of its elegant comfort as well as value for money. Its only drawback was its distance from the old city centre which resulted in all journeys needing to be by the nearby metro. However, the train journey was relatively rapid if one did not have to wait long for the next train.... more

2nd stay here with some friends for a trip to Munich for Oktoberfest. This hotel is literally 300 yards from the Oktoberfest fairgrounds, and has a subway stop underneath with easy access to the main parts of Munich (Odeonsplatz, Mariensplatz, etc). This hotel is slighty out of town not much to do outside of the hotel - BUT - just three short stops on the train gets you in to the city - the station is literally under the hotel - these trains run very late. Also a three day pass is so cheap and can be used on the trams... more
