I arrived on Sunday night at 11pm due to a delayed flight. I am in Munich on business. Our office manager had phoned 4 hours previous to check everything was ok with the room. All was fine she was told. When I arrived they told me they were sold out and there was some water damage in my room. The... More

Huge hotel with only three slow lifts. The room was clean and renovated, the hotel too. Even though there is a public bar on the roof of the hotel, seems like very quiet and safe hotel, in a very peaceful area of Munich.

The good: the service is of five star quality. Whoever runs the hotel does an excellent job with staff training. Also, the finish out of the lobby and rooms are outstanding. Glass shower doors, heated bathroom tiles, etc. It feels like a five star hotel is supposed to feel. Bad: The most basic things are not included in your very... More

Some of the rooms are nicely renovated, but if you don't have much luck you may find yourself in a small and dark room (I can tell because staff showed me multiple rooms). The elevators are incredibly slow, staff seems to use them sometimes as well. A lot of outside guests that use the bar on top, where hotel guests... More

My husband and I stayed here recently as well as 15 years ago with my parents who recommended it. We went in June and were told when we checked in that there had been some redesigning of the rooms since we were there last - they were beautiful. Breakfast buffet is delicious and always has been. The selection of food... More

I stayed here whilst at a conference. The room was quite large but felt dated and needed some redecoration. It was also quite dark. The hotel is very large with a number of restaurants and a roof terrace where we couldn't use due to a private function. The gym looked good but I didn't get time to try it out.

We stayed for a long weekend. Booked their City Break Arrangement. From check-in on, it was the perfect experience. Junior Suite was very nice and very clean. We did have to pay extra for our dog but when came to the room, everything was setup for him. 2 nice bowls and a large blanket. Breakfast is really nice and we... More

I had a great experience at the Bayerischer Hof hotel. It's located right downtown, next to the pedestrian area, the shopping and the museums. The service was excellent and the room was big, comfortable, very clean and well equipped. Breakfast is served on the 6th floor, on a beautiful terrace overlooking the downtown buildings.

We stayed at the hotel with my husband. The hotel is very close to the main station and it's in the downtown. The room was very comfortable especially the bed and the pillows and blankets were very soft. We had a great sleep. Breakfast was fantastic and it was served in the roof terrace with spectacular view to the city.... More

Yesterday it was my girlfriend's 30th birthday. We wanted to do something special in Munich and celebrate it as she deserves. So we decided to go to the terrace of the Bayerischer Hof. The terrace is beautiful and the views are awe-inspiring. But the service is disastrous. The prices are clearly higher than in other bars or restaurants and for... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Originally conceived by King Ludwig I, the Bayerischer Hof is one of Munich's most legendary hotels. History and contemporary flair mingle with easy elegance. Its iconic Blue Spa, offering barbecues in summer and an unique ice bar in winter with views of Munich, was created by Andrée Putman. The latest restaurants, Atelier and Garden, are by interior designer Axel Vervoordt, who also devised the Cinema Lounge; complete with its own Night Club with live Jazz, five restaurants, six bars and the theatre, it is a self-contained haven that draws celebrities and heads-of-state. Guest rooms are in a variety of styles, designed by famous architects. Top-floor suites have breathtaking views, private spa access, terraces or open fireplaces. ... more   less
