Someone had a fun time decorating the rooms!! We loved the personal touches on the rooms and in the halls. Park your car and walk to the attractions or take the streetcar which is very convenient to the hotel. Perfect for Octoberfest or any time of year. Just because I have nice things to say doesn't mean I have anything... More

Reception is in the Camera Cafe as people mentioned. Booked in in quickly and no fuss and rooms are behind this building. Each room is themed and I stayed in room 4 which had a global theme of some globes stuck onto the wall, and some blue paint. Quirky, but gave it character. Importantly the room was spotless, and they... More

I don't enjoy writing bad reviews and I also like to give the benefit of the doubt, however, don't be fooled by the good reviews which we believed to be fake. We arrived and could not find anyone. You have to walk into a cafe around the corner to find the staff. We then had booked a specific room as... More

This hotel has no reception, instead it is run from the cafe next door. We arrived at this hotel at 6pm on a rainy Sunday night. Staff knew we had booked for a Sunday but completely failed to tell us that the cafe was closed on a Sunday and so there would be no one there to check us in.... More

* There is NO staff 24x7 * There is NO fridge (consider Munich there are many different type of beer that you can buy in supermarket). * Breakfast starts late (8:00 am) and the food and drink are limited * Check-in and Check-out done in significant limited time, especially in holidays - you need to call * Bed is very... We stayed here for two nights in the quadruple 'Bliss' room. For a short stay it had everything we needed, apart from the lack of bath towels but we had read this on here, so went prepared with a microtowel which are great for travelling. The room was large enough being a quadruple room, and had a nice ambience about... More

Hotel is not very far from Muenchen HBF and very close to Therezin Wiese (main Oktoberfest place). It's a design hotel, every room in different color. The idea is great. But the bed was not convenient at all and furniture little outdated. So I can't say that it will cost the sum that we payed. It was only 1 night... More

I recently stayed in the Hotel Achterbahn for 3 nights at the tail-end of the Oktoberfest. The hotel is well located from the main attractions - about 8mins walk from Hauptbahnhof (tucked away behind Cafe Camera) and 15mins walk from the city centre. It's also about 2 mins from Theresienwiese station and very near the Oktoberfest celebrations. My first encounter... More

Stayed there during the Oktoberfest. About a km from the Hauptbahnoff (main railway station) but was a 3-4 min walk from the Oktoberfest venue (so for our purpose the location was perfect for a post-beer stagger back to the hotel). The hotel was a basic cafe which doubles up as a bar at night (with a dancing area) The room... More

Some friends and I booked three different rooms in 2011 for Oktoberfest. This place doesn't have all the amenities, but it's super cool. The price was much lower than other places, and it's really, really close to the Oktoberfest grounds. It's also quite close to the Munich central train station. Upon arriving, you have to check-in inside the Cafe Camera... More
