Without doubt this is the best hotel we've ever stayed at in a large city. It has far more character than any of the large and far more expensive chains. The owners and the staff were very welcoming and friendly from the start. Nothing was too much trouble - 'breakfast finishes at 11.00 but if you want to have it... More

Stayed for three nights when visiting family. Comfortable clean room with good double glazing which keeps out the noise of nearby traffic. Good breakfast selection served by friendly staff. The hotel is near the metro for the city centre but is near enough to walk if you want. There are many bars and restaurants within a short walk and the... More

We enjoyed our stay and recommend this hotel. Things to know: 1. Das Nikolai is very well located – just one short block off the main street in Schwabing, which is full of restaurants, shopping, bakeries, bars, etc. 2. The hotel is only 2.5 blocks to the subway station. So, it’s super convenient to catch a subway for the quick... More

Pros: once you are acclimated, the location is great. Convenient to U station-- take exit C and short walk to hotel. Convenient to English Gardens. Good breakfast --- loved the fried eggs and bacon --but some mornings the pastry selection was slim. Very nice front desk employees. Cons: we were on the 4th floor in room 401. This room was... More

Proof that a hotel does need to be a concrete tower or part of a chain, with windows that do not open. Staying here in Nikolaistrasse, just off Leopoldstrasse and a short walk from the Englischergarten, was a joy - like being in a private house but without the hosts and with excellent breakfast and friendly staff. And the sun... More

This was our second trip to Munich in less than 2 months. We booked this hotel a matter of hours before arriving and I would definitely stay here again. Firstly it is a lovely, quiet, comfortable and friendly establishment. The rooms are well appointed and spotless. The breakfast is fantastic with a range of fresh and cooked to order food... More

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights in early May. Everything about it was great. The location is perfect as it is about 2 blocks from the metro and right around the corner from restaurants and shopping. The metro stop is 2 stops from the attractions, so getting around is very easy. The hotel is an old building which... More

Stayed two nights while in Munich- can definitely say that lots of attentions have been paid to details. Consider this is a private owned business you will really appreciate the personal touch. They compensate areas could be improved with the great service and friendliness.

If you tired of those huge hotels where you do not feel welcome, try this small hotel in Munich. Its location is 2 blocks away from Ubahn that takes you to Munich main attractions within 2 stops. Staff is helpful and nice. Apartments are small but very confortable and well decorated. Finally, breakfast is delitious
