We chose Das Nikolai based on Trip Advisor reviews and weren't disappointed. The value for a European hotel was great; very reasonable price, clean, large room, great breakfast included in rate. The staff was very friendly, and was around 24 hours a day. The location was wonderful, we walked out of the hotel and right into a street fair, walked... More

Have you ever wondered what traveling might have been like before the age of mass tourism? I often have -- and must say that staying at Das Nikolai Hotel gave me an unexpected glimpse into that past. From the moment we arrived we were treated like long-lost, treasured relatives and this personalized service never failed during our 3-night stay. We... More

I used the Nikolai hotel due to professional business during to nights in October 2014. The hotel is nice, small, but very welcoming. The rooms are small, but not too small. Everything is very clean. The staff is very friendly and genuinely helpful. The breakfast room is nice and the selection is very good. It is well located in Munich... More

my review is based on a one-night-stay in september. the hotel is situated in an old (historical) building; our room was of modest size, furniture was renewed, wc and shower have glass doors, no noise proof, i did not find the cushions to be comfortable; no wardrobe to put your clothes away (if you stay for more days, it is... This was a great little hotel just outside the main tourist area. We wanted a hotel that was not in the touristy area of Munich, but also within walking distance of the U-bahn (about 5 minutes). This is on a quiet street just off Leopoldstrasse, which was a main street with a lot of restaurants, shops, bars, and markets. It... More

Without doubt this is the best hotel we've ever stayed at in a large city. It has far more character than any of the large and far more expensive chains. The owners and the staff were very welcoming and friendly from the start. Nothing was too much trouble - 'breakfast finishes at 11.00 but if you want to have it... More

Stayed for three nights when visiting family. Comfortable clean room with good double glazing which keeps out the noise of nearby traffic. Good breakfast selection served by friendly staff. The hotel is near the metro for the city centre but is near enough to walk if you want. There are many bars and restaurants within a short walk and the... More

We enjoyed our stay and recommend this hotel. Things to know: 1. Das Nikolai is very well located – just one short block off the main street in Schwabing, which is full of restaurants, shopping, bakeries, bars, etc. 2. The hotel is only 2.5 blocks to the subway station. So, it’s super convenient to catch a subway for the quick... More

Pros: once you are acclimated, the location is great. Convenient to U station-- take exit C and short walk to hotel. Convenient to English Gardens. Good breakfast --- loved the fried eggs and bacon --but some mornings the pastry selection was slim. Very nice front desk employees. Cons: we were on the 4th floor in room 401. This room was...
