it was a great place to stay but this hotel and the sister hotel Jagerhaus are now closed. Too bad it was such a great location close to everything with a good restaurant and helpful staff. Just trying to get the word out that these places are not open

I was able to book the last room for this hotel on NYE and I couldn't be happier with my selection. As this was the cheapest price for a hotel stay during my 2 week trip throughout central Europe, I was a bit hesitant about the quality I would get. First off, the pictures posted do not lie. The town... More

Great location and very good value, we had a large corner room on the upper floor and the views of both castles was excellent. This hotel seemed to be the closest to all attractions in the town. The museum was also a very short walk and the hotel gave us complimentary admission tickets.

Good location, few mins from the bus stop and the ticket center for the new castle etc... The room is classic decorated thought it seems the hotel is quite old as my room is short circuited twice during my visit over there in one night. And the restaurant is early closed at around 7pm, so you have to get to... More

This hotel is located in just the right place for walking to the castles. Clean rooms. Restaurant in the hotel is nice so that you don't have to fight thru the crowds outside. Parking is at the bottom of the hill so you might want to just bring an overnight bag with you instead of dragging your luggage up to... More

We were upgraded to Jagerhaus across the road from Schosshotel Lisl. Located at the base of Hohenschwangau Castle and close to Neuschwanstein Castle. Our room was small, hence only 4 rather than 5 stars. We had been travelling for a couple of months and had lots of luggage, so it was difficult to find room for everything. However our travel... On a cycling holiday, we had stayed at 3 really fantastic family-run pension-type hotels in Bavaria: in Lenggries, Kochel and Garmisch. Then we came to Hohenschwangau: touristy ++++: buses, campervans, and huge queues for both castles. However, worst was the spectacularly indifferent welcome we received from the Hotel Lisl and Jagerhof: quite offhand, and such a disappointment after our first... More

We ended our week long tour to Hohenschwangau and a visit to The Neuschwanstein castle. The hotel was very well located and very nice - a bit busy and the parking was not the greatest (the bus stop to the Neuschwanstein castle was next to the hotel) and there was no parking available right next door. Also the big tourist... More

We loved the charm of this place. We stayed for 2 nights in August in two double rooms, numbers 10 and 11. There was a big difference between the two rooms. Number 10, the corner room, was quite large, and you could see both the castles from the windows. Number 11 had a somewhat outdated bathroom with no shower screen,... More

We were booked in here by our travel agency on a cycling tour, not out of interest for the fairy tale castles. If you are interested in those, the location and view from room and breakfast parlour are excellent. If not, Fuessen is much more interesting, and less of a tourist hell. A redeeming feature of Hohenschwangau was the beautiful... More
