We booked this hotel because of the good reviews on Trip Advisor and they proved to be correct. The hotel is in a great location to walk to downtown Garmisch. The décor is outdated and old but there is a charm about it too. The best aspect was the balcony--stunning views of the Alps. The balcony was our favorite part... More

Mid-range hotel in perfect location nearby Kurpark and shopping mall. Old-fashioned decor, but superb views of the alps. Needs refurbishment - elevator is the original of 1957! Staff is not really friendly and oftens seems tired of doing their job. I got a single room in this case, which was very small but sufficient. At least small balcony. Bathroom even... More

We were some friends joining in this hotel, hence I can share some opinions. Whilst I was in room nº 1, which was perfect - big room, great view to the alps from the sunny balcony, others reported from smal ugly rooms in the older part of the hotel, especially those facing the street. Overall, not a consistent impression. Breakfast... More

The hotel is conveniently located in the town centre with free car parking. Decor may look quaint to some but to us was tired and faded. We were in a gloomy barn of a bedroom with no view. There is little room to sit indoors as the restaurant insists it needs all the space. Breakfast ok but for dinners we... More

We have just returned from a week's stay at this hotel and whilst we could not fault the general staff, especially Martha, but we found the gentleman who I think owns the hotel with his family rather surly and when we asked if we could book the same room for next July or August he said that it is reserved... I came to Garcmisch-Partenkirchen to attend a conference at the nearby conference center. The main reason I chose this hotel was for its close proximity to the conference center (2 minute walk from the hotel). The hotel was clean and the room very nice with a balcony opening up to the mountains to the south. The breakfast, which was included... More

We booked this hotel through an agent (Bents tours) the room photos on the website were pleasing; the rooms looked bright, clean and spacious. After a 4 hour cycle ride in pouring rain we arrived to what seemed like a usual alpine type hotel (I've stayed I. Many such). We expected simple but pleasant and clean rooms with a small... More

We arrived after a 40 km cycle in pouring rain. The room could barely fit the bed, was swealtering hot, mould in the shower & looked over a busy street. Asked to move "nothing available". We rebooked ourselves up the street. They couldn't have been more helpful! Yes some German hotels are basic, but I've stayed in smarter Youth hostels.... More

We stayed here first week of July 2014.. 3 nights and 3 rooms for our group. 1. Location is A+ - walk everywhere and 5 minutes to the train. 2. Rooms: Couple 1 had large room on 3rd floor, very poor lighting, window views of mountains, no balcony. Bathroom lighting also dim. Clean, Could not get the wifi to work... More

We stayed here at the beginning and at the end of a trek through the Alps. Based on our first night room experience, I would have given it 4 stars. Yes, it is a bit dated, but the room was spacious and we had an amazing balcony looking out at the Alps. The included breakfast is very generous and good.... More
