We stayed for only night with halfboard. The food was delicious and absolutely recommendable. The rooms are oldfashioned but very Bavarian and cozy. We liked it very much. The staff is very friendly and kind. The breakfat buffet is superb!!!!

Everything you expect to find in Bavaria! The owners are just terrific. We arrived later than we had hoped and although they were closing the kitchen they still brought us something hot for dinner. The room was small but very adequate with a balcony overlooking a beautiful farm with cows and cow bells. Charming! Quaint and lovely.

We stayed here for several nights while travelling through Germany. I found the hotel, in part, based ohe the reviews on TA, which were pretty good. Our experience, however, was not so good. On the positive side, the owners are fantastic--very friendly and incredibly helpful. The food is pretty good. We ate dinner there most nights and were pleased by... More

What a lovely get-away from the activity of the tourist area of Oberammergau. Excellent service, quiet away from the hustle and bustle of the town, although it is only a five or ten minute walk from the center of town. Great food. Excellent dessert of the day by the chef was peach mousse. Very reasonable. Wish we'd found it sooner.... More

This property defines charming! Our room was at the top of the chalet with a balcony overlooking the valley and the dairy farm below. There was even a skylight in the bathroom with a view of the mountain across the valley. The room was extremely comfortable and spacious, the breakfasts and dinners were wonderful, but what really made this place... More

We just got back May 2013 and 4 days at Oberammergau. The stay here was the highlight of our trip. The hotel is clean and neat. The staff and especially Erik were the most friendly and helpful we have experienced in many years. The food was amazing and the setting is very peaceful and a perfect launching place to visit... This place was outstanding. Quiet, comfortable, peaceful with outstanding views of the mountains. It was very inexpensive and the food was very good and reseasonably priced. They spoke very good English which was good as my Deutsch isnt so good. I love this area of Germany and will definitely be back.

The hotel was very nice. Clean and friendly service from check in to check out. Dinner and breakfast were complimentary and delicious. Would love to stay longer. Family owned very quaint hotel. The proprietor was born in this hotel. He loves to tell stories of the history.

The only reason I can think of that one might not be happy here is if you demand shiny new generic hotels with marble bathrooms! The Friedenshohe is definitely more in the cozy & comfy mode. There are more rooms than I expected but it is in the traditional guesthouse style. One unusual feature is that they provide half board... More

Though i witnessed a whiteout driving into this delightful town i was able to find hotel with lettle effort. I was met by lovely hosts and make to feel at home. They were very helpful on directions to sites near by; eg, Linderhof, Rottenbuch, Wieskirche and Neuschwanstein. Their kichen is run by others, but food very good and Bavarian.
