First I would like to thank Monica for her hospitality, she is a wonderful host. Her grandfather and grandmother began this Hotel decades ago until Bormann took it from them...I had been to Berchtesgaden several times and stayed at various places but this place tops them all! The Hotel is very private, Monica sees to it that everyone keeps the... More

We LOVED this hotel. Not only was it beautiful, but Monica was extremely friendly and knowledgable about the hotel and area. She made a great breakfast in the morning too! We loved the room, very clean and warm. We even had a little porch with a fantastic view. I loved the little bar area stocked with peanuts and many different... More

We didn't actually stay there, my wife and I met up with a young lady traveling Europe that we met on one of our joint tours. A very nice cozy hotel, very clean and friendly staff...very helpful in giving tips and ideas of things to see in and around the area...our friend Kristy was very pleased with her stay there

Zum Turken is very basic in terms of comfort (no room tv, no wifi), but it is clean very bavarian and people do not come here for comfort anyway. People stay here because it is in the center of the III Reich 2nd headquarter after Berlin. It is 50m from the Berghof and Boremann House, 100m from Goering house and... More

I skipped the hotel review, it´s just a hotel. One of our stop that summer was Berchtesgaden. Our goal was Kehlsteinhaus. You take the bus to the entrence of the Kehlsteinhaus elevator (you have to walk 126 meter inside the moutain). Take the elevator up (126 meter) and you arrive inside the Kehlsteinhaus. It´s a restaurant att the top floor.... More

You can stay at the InterCon just across the way from this lovely hotel, or you can relish true Bavarian charm. This is not a hotel that can really be rated like others as it really stands by itself in this area of Germany. The views are superb and the history is second to none. Google it! :-) This is... Great place (please note there was no elevator if this is important to you) of historical significance. Fantastic location and great hospitality (thank you again Monica). We stayed there late October for two nights and really enjoyed the experience (more like bed and breakfast than a regular hotel). If you are looking for a dinner place the Intercontinental is right... More

This hotel defies a numerical rating. If what you are looking for is modern amenities, recent plumbing, convenient electric plugs, wifi, TV, or good lighting, stay somewhere newer in the area. As the owner said, "we are 50 years behind the times." However, if you would like a quiet place with beautiful views, an excellent hostess, good breakfast, and easy... More

The WW2 tunnels under the hotel are a once in a lifetime experience - super interesting and super creepy. Well worth a visit, but make sure you have plenty of change to pay the entrance fee in the barrier.

The hotel has quite a history. On first entering, it's a bit forbidding - very dark and quiet. The owner is helpful. The rooms are not huge and the bathroom experience pretty basic - a washbasin in the room and the toilet and shower behind a curtain. However, the room was clean and comfortable, with great views from the balcony.... More
