You can stay at the InterCon just across the way from this lovely hotel, or you can relish true Bavarian charm. This is not a hotel that can really be rated like others as it really stands by itself in this area of Germany. The views are superb and the history is second to none. Google it! :-) This is... Great place (please note there was no elevator if this is important to you) of historical significance. Fantastic location and great hospitality (thank you again Monica). We stayed there late October for two nights and really enjoyed the experience (more like bed and breakfast than a regular hotel). If you are looking for a dinner place the Intercontinental is right... More

This hotel defies a numerical rating. If what you are looking for is modern amenities, recent plumbing, convenient electric plugs, wifi, TV, or good lighting, stay somewhere newer in the area. As the owner said, "we are 50 years behind the times." However, if you would like a quiet place with beautiful views, an excellent hostess, good breakfast, and easy... More

The WW2 tunnels under the hotel are a once in a lifetime experience - super interesting and super creepy. Well worth a visit, but make sure you have plenty of change to pay the entrance fee in the barrier.

The hotel has quite a history. On first entering, it's a bit forbidding - very dark and quiet. The owner is helpful. The rooms are not huge and the bathroom experience pretty basic - a washbasin in the room and the toilet and shower behind a curtain. However, the room was clean and comfortable, with great views from the balcony.... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel Zum Turken. It was one of the most memorable places I have ever stayed. The room (double with balcony overlooking Berchtesgaden) was meticulously clean and well-arranged (little Ritter chocolates, the hotel’s name embroidered on the blankets), as was the entire hotel. The balcony had a beautiful view but was definitely the most costly... More

If you are looking for a posh 5-star hotel, this is not the place. The accommodations are basic - our room had creaky beds and a curtain for a bathroom door. However, the hotel is a wonderful treasure with historic significance in WWII. It is spotlessly clean and has a breathtaking view of the mountains. We enjoyed both the breakfast... More

My husband, son and I had the pleasure of staying here last week. The rooms are comfortable, giving you a true European feeling. No Internet, no TV, just a beautiful quiet atmosphere. We had a wonderful balcony overlooking the valley. In the evening after going into town for dinner, we sat in an adorable bar area, full of many amenities... More

We stayed sometime ago. We hope our review is posted. There is nothing quite like this hotel to stay in given its history. But what makes this place special is its host. Mrs Scharfenberg. Her story as owner and as a host managing the place herself you won't find such an interesting story attached to a hotel anywhere in Germany.... More

My husband and I stayed here in early June . We got the last room luckily. If you are looking for a place without city sounds the aggravation of the internet and tv. This is the place to really get away. We went for the atmosphere and history since we are ww2 history buffs this is the place. We couldn't... More
