We stayed 2 nights. Regular room but we slept great. Service was excellent. The location is fantastic as it's right across from the light rail stop, 3 stops from the Hauptbahnhof. Also easy walking distance to the main shopping area.

We were accommodated by this hotel at very short notice due to a problem with our booking elsewhere. We got a friendly reception and two spacious rooms; everything was clean and tidy. The breakfasts were excellent. The hotel is very handily placed for all city attractions and public transport. The area is a bit seedy but not dangerous.

This is, on many levels, the worst hotel I have slept in, in all of Europe, and I sleep in a lot of budget hotels! From where should I start? Well, the first thing, as soon as we entered, and carried our luggage up the stairs to the first floor (as that's where the reception is, the ground floor is... More

The hotel just provides very basic service at an excellent location. Yes, it is cheap but also the service is rather cheap. If you have a bathroom in the room, this appears to be a plastic-aircraft bathroom. The street is loud, the TV tiny (it would be better not to put any TV in the room). Also the weird security... I've had to cancel a reservation and although I did inform the hotel in time they still debited my credit card and did not answer my e-mails. I wrote several e-mails but they simply ignored them and from that you can see how much they care about you as a customer: not at all.

Based on the reviews we had looked at prior to booking it did not sound to bad. But from the moment we arrived at this Hostel we were disappointed. The room lacked curtains and had what you would called string covering the windows which was not great once you were in the room at night and anyone from the street... More

I was due to stay at the Hotel Am Willhelmsplatz but when I arrived I could not gain access - don't go there, it is awful and expensive. But back to the Espenlaub- tey got me a room at after 10pm at night, shared shower room for 35 euros. This was on a national holiday and also Cannstatter Volksfest time.... More

My partner and I stayed at Hotel Espenlaub over August bank holiday for 3 nights. We payed for a room with private bathroom and were placed in room 306. Pros: - Breakfast was included in the room rate. Good continental breakfast (meats, cheeses, breads, cereals etc.). - Close to tram stop with direct trams to the main train station. -... More

The hotel is a short U-Bahn (local tram) ride from the city center, close to 2 good supermarket and some kebab joints. The Chinese restaurant opposite is a good option. I had a great experience overall. Our room was very clean, spacious and quiet, bed linen was crisp white and soft and mattress was good. Staff was very friendly and... More
