Stayed here for 2 nights during a 6-night business trip to Munich, Stuttgart and Frankfurt. Quite honestly, this hotel was the worst of the 3 hotels I stayed in during my 6-night stay in Germany. Service levels were dismal, room cleanliness left much to be desired and supporting amenities were almost non-existent. Let's start with the service levels, which was... More

This can't be called a hotel. I had to book this hotel because it was a last minute trip and there was not any other room available for that night. I became sick of disgust after too hours there. I didn't even take a shower and we cancelled and moved next day. I have been in much cheaper and cleaner... More

I have booked this Hotel Astoria through hotels.com on 1 Oct 2014 in the early morining and prepared to take the train to go to Stuttgart at night during my Germany trip. Hotels.com has sent the confirmed booking e-mail to me, and never received any notice for my cancellation, and INDEED I haven't made any cancellation, so Hotels.com also didn't... More

Stayed here recently with a group of friends, having booked our rooms eight months in advance. Upon arrival we were rudely informed we did not have sufficient rooms booked, even though we had printed confirmation of our booking. Eventually got sorted with rooms, our 3 bed room was clean, but a twin room with a camping bed planked in the... More

The Hotel Astoria is located about a two-minute walk from the Stadtmitte/Rotebuhplatz station. This station is directly connected to the airport as well as the Hauptbanhof main station, so getting to and from there is not a problem. The wifi is admittedly spotty, and there is no air conditioning (which is not really something unusual for German hotels...most of the... More

The girl at the front desk was quite rude, right from check in, and the wifi barely worked. I raised this with reception, and the response was, no one else has complained. Possibly because most of the people staying are German and have phone plans with internet. I'm travelling solo, I do need to check in with people and let... More

I was given a substandard room, with trailing telephone wires and no refrigerator. I discovered it also had bed bugs. After a two-night stay, I woke at five am to find I had numerous red welts over my back, ankles, wrists and hands. These have since become angry and inflamed. The hotel has offered to refund the cost of my... More

This hotel is situated near the center. But it needs updating. In our room (203), the curtains didn't close, some lamps didn't work, the sink has no stopper, internet didn't work. The duvet was too warm. There was much noise outside. The lift stops between the floors, so you'll allways have to carry your luggage upstairs or downstairs. The receptionist... More

The hotel needs refurbishing, is near the train station, and the double room is okay. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Buffet breakfast is good but the dining room is dark, too dark for having a hearty breakfast, especially during gloomy weather.

The decor seems to be stuck in the 1980s and the room was falling apart. On arrival, one of the bedside lamps didn't work. The receptionist popped up half an hour later with a spare lightbulb but promptly broke one of the two lightbulbs in the lamp so the electrician had to come out the next day. When I returned...
