This hotel is not far from the train station and also within walking distance from the pedestrian zone, with a streetcar stop practically outside your door. The only good think I can say about this hotel, if you could call it a hotel, is that it is close to the tram stop and the reception gave us good directions to local places. Once you check in with reception, however, you then have to go back outside and next door to access the hotel rooms, which are... more

The worst experience ever! On Oct 25th, 2008 around 1pm I came to the reception of the Hotel am Karlstor in Karlsruhe, Germany. I got an explanation that the hotel had some problems and they booked a room in another hotel. Then, the receptionist gave me a printed Google map with the directions how to get to the hotel Handelshof.... more
