I returned to this hotel after 3 years for the same reason - business trip. The first stay 3 years ago was perfect, my room was in the building in the courtyard (very stylish), but in this case I made a reservation in the main (and likely oldest) building (in front of the school and ?..) . The room was... More

This hotel looks like a 'standard' hotel from the road, but once you get behind the facades it opens up into a rather 'different' hotel to say the least. 'Wacky' or just 'bonkers' would be one way to describe the shapes and faces on the buildings - it certainly has something special about it. My room was in the wacky... More

My room was a 70's throwback in the old part of the building, old furniture, brown tiles, even a (non-working) cassette player in the bed head (!), but comfy enough. Breakfast is fine but nothing exciting compared to a modern hotel. What sets this hotel apart is the total wackiness of the other bits of the hotel. If you are... More

This is for you who wants a hotel with a very special soul. It's like being back to the cartoons series, this can't be descriebed, you must simply stay there to make your own decision. The rooms are as you will expect, but no extra. The restaurant is a "brauhaus" with very good bier and acceptable food.I would stay at... More

We have had a reservbation for a double room with a third sleeping possibillity and at first we got a single room with a sofa that wasn't sheeted. After request they gave us the correct room with a double bed and a single bed. Very old furniture with dark brown wood covered walls and a bath in bahama beige (maybe... More

I was invited over to Karlsruhe for a meeting and it appears that the company use this hotel as the guest like it for its quirkiness. Within the site there are 2 hotels, a restaurant, bars, and brewery. This is the strangest hotel that I have ever been in, the decor is a cross between Alice in Wonderland and Willy... More

What a strange little place! I had one of the themed rooms, the carpet was a constellation of stars, the bed was in a pyramid, the furniture and décor were 1980s while the theme was more science fiction. Iw ould have preferred curtains on all the windows, I don't find voils to offer privacy in a lit room. The room... More

good location, close to the center, yet quiet area and on the other side of a large Beergarden. Breakfast has a great variety, (lots of choices). The hotel is a mixture of lots of buildings so it can be a bot bewildering navigation around.

Walking past the Virgin Mary, down the stairs that appear from nowhere in the middle of the hall, then looking out over the twin cupolas, one with a boy, one with a girl (did I miss the fairy tale connection?), and finally overlooking the back hoe-crane abandoned years ago which now serves faithfully as garden sculpture and bird sanctuary, one... Hearing from my colleague that we were to stay here in theme rooms I was very skeptical. However my room was very large and high standard, just behind the two eyes in one of the towers with a face. That was the only strange thing, haha. A family with kids would love these kind of theme rooms. Couple of minutes... More
