Nice rooms, great location right in the center of the town. The breakfast was very nice. We had dinner here once and it was also very good. Staff was very helpful. Have to park in public parking and then walk to the hotel. Not bad once you have done it once.

We stayed two nights in the middle of October. We had a family room for three just over the restaurant (second floor) facing the street. We should have asked for a room away from the street. Sleep was impossible. The room was very large and comfortable. We even had a small refrigerator. Like the hard wood floors. Bathroom was good... More

Streets were closed due to music festival, so after parking car and trekking thru town we arrived at guesthouse, had to walk thru restaurant to get to elevator for room. But we were put at ease for our room had ample space, light and a hugh bathroom. I read the other person review and its hard to realize that we were... More

I stayed here the first week of October. The weather was beautiful and Heidelberg was absolutely overrun with tourists. I only had a one night stay here, which was plenty of time to see everything on my list (Neckar River castles & Heidelberg Castle). This hotel is very charming. It's an inn over a very cozy restaurant on the ground... More

The hotel is very well located in the middle of the old town. This seems to justify the high price, for otherwise the hotel is noting spectacular that one would expect for the 100 e. / night. The rooms was nice with some old furniture. Lots of space in the room. The bed was large and good. The bathroom, however,... More

We stayed for one night in Room 8. Beautiful room, with private balcony/terrace and a view of the castle. Very peaceful at night in our room. Great placement if you want to go out on the town. We were right next to Vetter's Brauhaus which served wonderful beer with a great atmosphere to just sit and people watch. Walking distance... More

Spent 4 nights at the end of August in Heidelburg to attend a family wedding in Neckarsteinach. We had several rooms at the small family owned Gasthaus Hackteufel which was very conveniently located in terms of walking to attractions and getting a taste of the local experience. I stayed in room #4 on the 2nd floor which was away from... More

If you are looking for 5-star accommodations of name brand hotels, go somewhere else. If you want charm, a cultural experience, and a great location, this is the place for you. The location is very central. The breakfast was very good. The atmosphere is warm and quaint. The facility itself is old, which means everything is on the small side,... More

We spent two nights at this hotel with our children and I am really sorry to say our experience was highly disappointing, to be compensated only by the beauty of the city and its lovely people (outside the hotel). We had room on the first floor and our children were on the second floor. Our request for a room on... More

Not much to add here to the other reviews that say it all really - the location is great, once you are there and checked in - feels a bit strange to drive your vehicle down those cobbled streets full of people, but it's perfectly legal! They showed us a place close by to park our motorcycle, which was helpful.... More
