The Molkenkur hotel was a great find! It is definitely a hidden gem! You do have to drive up the twisty hillside to get there, but the view is superb!! Breakfast was definitely worth it: eggs, waffles, meats and cheeses, pastries and yogurt all with that breathtaking view!! It's not in the old town area, however, the funicular is right... More

A beautiful view looking over Heidelberg. Quite the narrow winding road to get there so we used the funicular to go back into town. The front desk was very helpful and informative as how to get tickets, times etc for the funicular. Our room was very nice.

The funicular railway closes at 17.00 in the autumn/winter season so it's a long, steep walk back up the hill in the dark after an evening in Heidelberg - either that or a taxi for around €10. Decided to eat in the hotel restaurant one evening to save the trek into town. Meal was average, but quite expensive, so not... More

Such a lovely hotel, in the most wonderful position in the hills above Heidelberg, overlooking the river. The views from my room and on the terrace were spectacular. The rooms are newly refurbished, the beds comfortable, and everything very clean. The breakfast was 10 Euros, and plentiful. Complimentary sweets and mineral water in the room. There is also a funicular... More

This was the first hotel we stayed at on our trip to Germany and it was the perfect place to recover from jet lag. The views from our room were amazing and the whole property was very peaceful and relaxing. Even though there was a large wedding party staying the same weekend as us, the staff went out of their... We stayed for two nights in room 18. Lovely room with amazing views (17 has a balcony). Staff were friendly. Room and bathroom were nice (bathroom was spacious and modern) but it is really all about the views. Very peaceful location on top of a hill overlooking the city. Easy to get up and down to the town during the... More

Stayed over here one night during a motorbike tour. Very nice hotel, with stunning views. Staff were nice although a bit stressed due to there being some corporate function going on. We had dinner here which was lovely and very reasonably priced. The rooms were nice, spacious and the shower was excellent.

Location: high on top of the hill, with an amazing view of the Neckar river and the Heidelberg castle. Outstanding location for those looking for peace and quiet, not recommended if you prefer to stay in the center close to restaurants and stores. We found it easy to reach the city on foot (especially because you can stop by the... More

The staff - welcoming and smiling. The rooms - not very spacious but with nice decor, absolutely neat and tidy. The breakfast - good choice, enough to eat well. Nothing special, though. The location - quiet forested area on the top of the hill with a view of the river.
