Double bed room (2 singles together) was 83e / night. 3e for wi-fi for the whole stay. Breakfast was included, and quite good. Meats and cheeses, bread rolls, juice, coffee, tea etc. Room was very nice, with views onto the Old Bridge. Only drawbacks were that it could get noisy with all the restaurants and bars outside, but that didn't... more

So -- the Goldener Hect is a decent hotel at a good price. I wouldn't say I'm overwhelmed with the room -- I'm in a single and mine is tiny, and also right next to the breakfast room so there is a lot of noise of someone shuffling dishes and such (it's about 9:15 p.m.). However, the location can't be... more

Loved the location of this small hotel -- it is on the corner looking directly at the towers of the Alte Brucke, the old bridge. Also on the same street as Vetter's Alt Brauhaus, a microbrewing institution in Heidelberg that serves great goulash. The hotel itself is pleassant -- simply decorated, but certainly nice enough. The shower in our room... more

We were here mid-week and it was in the 30's so there were not many people out late at night on the street. Our room was directly over the dining room and restaturant entrance to the hotel and there is a large area out front with tables for nice weather. The hotel is pretty much on the water and 50... more

Ok, I'll take partial blame for this. I knew this hotel was in the middle of the action. Great if you're there as a tourist. I went for business. The problem was the noise in the evening. Like most hotels in Europe, there is no A/C so if it is warm you need to keep windows open. It was VERY... more

Okay, so I can't speak for every hotel in Germany but after 12 nights staying in various hotels throughout Germany, this was by far are most comfortable night of sleep. THey actually had REAL pillows, not those flat towel like pillows as are the norm in Europe. I believe our bedding also may have been Down, I'm not sure but... more

The hotel and its location is simply wonderful. It overlooks the river and the historic Alten Brucke (Old Bridge). The ambiance is one of the most romantic locations in Europe. Having said that, the manner in which the proprietress treated us can only be described as rude and ugly. I had booked this hotel online and had prepaid for the... more

The location of the hotel is superb, far better than the Radisson and Marriott by far. My room no. 14 is clean, and unlike the descriptions of the Mark Twain room, large, but nothing fancy. I was on the second floor facing the street, and I image that during the heat of the summer, when the windows are open, you... more

We visited Heidelberg in January. My daughter and I were delighted with the location of this quaint hotel. Our little room overlooked the river. The Mark Twain room is very clean, well furnished, but very small, which wasn't a problem for the two of us. Breakfast will amaze you, with sliced meats, cheeses, breads, fruit and yogurt. It is within... more

Perfect location for Heidelberg; right next to the historic bridge. Beds were clean and comfortable. Bathrooms clean. No stairs, but the staff was very, very courteous and helpful, including keeping our bags after checkout so we could wander the town. They spoke English very well and refused tips. It could not handle our family of 4 in 1 room, however,... more
