The hotel was nice. A bit old but clean and in perfect condition. Location is great, in front of a bridge, popular with tourists. The hotel's restaurant was also very good, 4.5/5! I would definitely choose this hotel again in the future!

Going back to Heidelberg for a weekend of re-union with myself only 40-some years after I went to Heidelberg to learn German, I stayed the night at the Goldener Hecht. Friendly greeted by the receptionist, I got the room number 12 directly oposite the Town Bridge Gate, she told me that the breakfast room was wuite crowded, maybe I would... More

This is a pretty basic hotel but it definitely has it's charm. It's old...and feels like it. So if you're looking for a luxurious room with all the modern amenities....look elsewhere. However, if you want to feel like you've traveled back in time, this is actually kind of a neat place. Now I don't mean that you have to use... More

This hotel is in the best location for the old bridge and the view from our room was superb but that is the only good point about it. The room was probably the most basic we have stayed in for a long time and the bed was atrocious, looked like two straw filled mattresses and felt about the same. There... More

Stayed in this hotel for a night in December 2014; the hotel is perfectly located to not only explore Heidelberg but also to soak in the charm of the old city. The 'modern' amenities such as a lift are not present but who wants to spoil the experience of an authentic medieval building with such intrusions!! The rooms are perfectly... More

This hotel is right in the middle of the old town Heidelberg - and as such is a good location for exploring the rest of the city. However, the rooms lack temperature control and are staggeringly hot. Opening a window doesn't resolve sleep issues as the streets are very noisy outside. The staff were moderately served their purpose but were... More

Very well located, just off the pedestrian bridge, this Hotel offers everything with out glitze. The rooms are large and clean yet spartan in decor. Just above the restaurant of the same name I can not say enough about the location. Parking is public like many Hotels in Heidelberg. Draw-back; no elevator. Service is friendly and helpful.

We stayed for one night but certenly want to visit Heildeberg again. If they gave us a better room i would stay ther again.Just next to the bridge of the old city this hotel is not too much in the inside. The room was basic...and too expensive for what it offers! The breakfast is good but you have to make a reservation because... So we picked this hotel at the last minute because it was close to the Altstadt where we were going to attend Christmas markets. There is no free wi-fi, breakfast was not included (11 euro per person), and the parking was on the other side of the altstadt. However, the hotel is literally right at the opening of the main... The food is ok but the service is rather poor. The two girls in service are more considered about the starting time of their next shift as of their guests. You can wave many times but are unseen. And paying with a card seems not to be rewarded with a "thank you" - i paid with credit card, filled in... More
