I had dinner there some time ago, and it was excellent. The restaurant still is very good. The “hotel” is a different matter, best described as quaint. The tiny reception desk is in the kitchen (!). Rooms are very small, and frugality reigns at every level from appointments to bathroom supplies. The accommodations are not quiet. But they are functional... More

Quaint older hotel but a clean, comfortable room overlooking the street below. SO convenient to everything in old town Heidelberg. The reception desk sits in the kitchen ? Guess that's OK. But in the morning for an early check out to catch a train - not so good as there is noone there to check you out. The first night we... More

Spent a week here on business. Great inner city (old town) location with a good level of old world charm with plenty of modern hotel conveniences. The restaurant bar was a great location for a drink to start or end an evening.

We went in early November for our Anniversary and chose the Weisser Bock for the location. It is in a relatively busy part but that was one of the great assets of the hotel. The rooms were all as they appeared on the website so there were no surprises. The one great surprised was the restaurant. It looked like it... More

This is not a hotel that belongs to a huge chain, yet the guest is always first. The hotel is very well located just a few steps to the main Street. The main interest of our trip was to visit the Christmas markets and they were so close that we went back to the hotel to leave our shopping and... More

My wife and I stayed here at the recommendation of a friend at Heidelberg University. It is a very friendly, local German hotel. See Patrick D's comments on that which I fully endorse. Clean comfortable room, which was quiet internally facing and in 3rd floor. Very comfortable.

First, I saw that several people gave this hotel poor reviews. I don't agree. I will that that by American standards, one could think that the hotel is poor. I heard comments like "check in was in the kitchen" and "requested a quiet room". By European standards, the latter is quite normal. Understand that these are not five-star, chain hotels... More

The hotel is just off of the main tourist street and makes getting to the attractions of Heidelberg. The restaurant also is quite nice. There ends the positive review. A smattering of the negatives: NOISY - the proximity to tourist areas means that you're subject to people who cannot control themselves after dark. Check-in is in the kitchen!! You walk... More

The best thing about this hotel is its restaurant. The food is great and the decor is lovely. Our stay in ou room, however, was a disaster. I made a reservation several weeks ahead an requested a quiet room. We were placed in the front of the hotel, on the second floor right above the entrance. As people left the... More

My husband and I recently stayed at Hotel Weisser Bock on our visit to Heidelberg. We paid a bit extra to reserve the larger room and were glad we did. It was very spacious and charming. It had all the necessary amenities although the double bed was just two singles pushed together, not a huge issue but for the price,... More
