We stayed in 2 different rooms at this hotel because we unexpectedly had to stay 2 nights instead of 1. The first room was in the main building and was relatively small, but still clean and perfectly sufficient. The second room was in the building around the corner and was very large and had a balcony. We enjoyed both. The... More

I visit lovely Freiburg every year to celebrate the city's partnership with my town of Guildford, England. I have now stayed at this family-run hotel, usually with colleagues, ten times -- which shows how much I like it. It is an excellent place to stay, close to all the city's amenities, with excellent accommodation and food and a friendly owner... More

Great hotel - fantastic restaurant, wonderful location, good breakfast. Offered a choice of room and took the traditional because we thought it would be quieter. It was! Although the bathroom was dated it was absolutely spotless and the shower fitting was brand new, powerful, hot. No tea and coffee in the rooms, but no problem for staff to bring it... More

All positive reviews on Trip Advisor were accurate. Stayed in annex in a lovely room with enough room. Dined in the excellent restaurant the three nights we were there. Nothing could have been added to the excellent breakfast. Owner was very friendly and we had several pleasant conversations with and in English. We very much enjoyed Freiburg. It appeared that... Location: absolute epicentre of the old town, you couldn't get better Great little balcony with a view of nearby spires Good sized room Personally I like a bathroom door that actually forms a barrier to sights and sounds from the rest of the room, but if you're travelling with someone you know well, you can live with this ;-)

This is a surprisingly modern hotel within the old city walls of Freiburg. It is not easy to find the garage in which to park, but once you do, it is convenient to the hotel, as you cannot drive into the old town. The owners are not terribly friendly, and the rooms are Spartan, with wood floors, a white desk... More

We were visiting Freiburg for the Zelt Musik Festival and were so glad we stayed at the Schwarzwaelder Hof Hotel. The hotel is a wonderful blend of old charm, modern amenities and fascinating art. A very good breakfast with a selection of meats, cheeses, breads, yogurt, fruit, juices, and coffee are included. Also included is a public transportation pass for... More

We stayed in a suite which was worth the extra cost, it was well equipped with a very nice bathroom. The room looked onto the street and was reasonably quiet. A very good breakfast with lots of choice of fresh fruit, breads and cakes. The restaurant was excellent with fresh local food and wines, Good value around 50 euros for two.The... More

There were many pluses to our stay here. Reaching the hotel by foot from the train station was relatively simple - pretty much a straight line toward the forested berg/burg/bluff with the spire of the Munster off to the left. Reception was friendly and helpful. The room was spotless and featured modern plumbing, lighting and windows. Breakfast in the restaurant... More
