As always we stay in the Baden Baden area of Germany as a stop over. This hotel will be one we will revisit not on a Wednesday or Thursday as the Resturant is closed. The room was very specious with double and single bed table and two chairs sofa and 3 door wardrobe and dressing table complimentary water the bathroom... More

Down to earth, fully functional Black Forest hotel in the rustic country style. Everything functioned, the rooms were warm, the mattresses comfortable, the beds big, the bathroom was modern & wifi worked without any problems. Breakfast was typical Continental with more than enough selection. Parking was free too. Very good value for money.

I would have to say that this is the most difficult to find, but the staff and rooms were 5*****. No need to go anywhere for meals. The bus into town stops almost at the front door, so once your car is parked, thats the last time you will need it. (NOTE - you do need a car). The view... More

We stayed at Hotel Altenberg for two nights while visiting the Black Forest area in Germany. The little town just over the hill from Baden-Baden is very picturesque and quiet. The hotel is tucked away off the main street but was truly a great find. The rooms are very clean and modern and the bathroom was amazing...completely updated and beautiful...with... More

We booked the Altenberg based on all the wonderful comments on trip advisor. It was at short notice and we needed two nights before moving on through Europe and after stays in France. Italy and Austria. Without any doubt this was the worst hotel of the holiday and the worst hotel we have stayed in for a very long time.... More

An absolute Gem. Very nice owners and staff. Clean and tidy. Great food. Try the tomato soup. I will be coming back for that alone. Rooms were very nice with quite swish bathrooms. Secure parking. We stayed two days we liked it so much.

Nice spacious room in a very friendly hotel. The decor was a little dated (but not REALLY old), but everything was clean and well-presented. The shower was a bit strange though, as the water didn't really seem to drain away properly... The breakfast, however, was fantastic, and the staff were great. Really welcoming, very helpful, and also (selfishly, from my... More

I stayed here for three nights for business in a single room. The location is outside the city so one needs a car or m/c, this however means it is very quiet so having windows open is not an issue. There is no airconditioning. My room was clean with a modern bathroom and small bacony overlooking some cherry trees. Breakfast... More

We stayed here on our way to Salzburg. We got an upgrade to our room which was nice. After 9 hours traveling all we wanted was dinner and bed. The dinner was excellent beautiful cod fillet and mixed meat and salad. Would we stay here again you bet. Very nice village setting just the tree the birds and silence it... More
