We have been to that great place with my mum. The area is great, it used to be a monastery and the building is just gorgeous. Food is great and I highly recommand the superb terrace on a sunny day. Just upset by the attitude of the owner who called me the day after my visit because they made a... More

This is a wonderful hotel set in the middle of an industrial estate so no stunning views across fields. The rooms had just been reprinted so were clean and fresh however the bathroom needed some attention, broken tiles round the bath and a loose water pipe to he toilet. Everything worked it just looked like it needed some TLC. The... More

Lovely restaurant, public areas and en suite bathroom, though the bedroom was clean it was disappointingly dated and in need of decorating. The owners seem passionate about food which is reflected in the gourmet menu, and maybe where all their effort lies. As mentioned elsewhere location is weird but once through the gates is perfectly lovely for a stop over.

This is a wonderful old Monastery BUT now located on the edge of a industrial estate. Possible good business from the local workers but not the stunning venue it once was. The family owners run a excellent hotel and the food served in the restaurant was very good. Bedrooms are adequate if a little tired but represent good value. Plenty... More

Looking for a stop-over hotel on the way to or from the Alps, criteria is: clean good-sized rooms and bathrooms, decent restaurant, secure parking and value-for-money. Location - not pretty! In the middle of an industrial park, right next to the autoroute (and not that easy to find). However, the hotel itself is like an oasis - the driveway is... More

we have stayed here only for 1 night for Lyon Festival of Lights. We had a room which was good size, clean, well quipped. not the newest equipment, but we did not expect that anyway. hotel is pet friendly!! what we have to highlight is the food. it is worth to get the breakfast and enjoy it. do not expect... Great hotel, close to the auto route, so therefore ideal when travelling to or from the South of France. It's a shame about the industrial estate sprawled around it, but once inside the gates, it's a gem of a hotel. We booked a superior room which was overlooking the lovely garden. Room was spotless, bright, & well furnished with plenty... More

Lovely quiet place ...but in a surprising location! Thisis an oasis of tranquility near the autoroute. But do not fear...very quiet. Great rooms in an ancient monastery. Do not be worried by drive up...once inside it is super! Love.to.come again. food to die for. Great stop for driving south but we will go back for a stay to discover Beaujolais.... More

She-ho-must-be-obeyed and I were travelling around France on a delightful trip thinly disguised as a business trip. Having tried to stay in the heart of Beaujolais and failed, we were referred by a local hotel owner to this hotel in the middle of an industrial estate in Villefranche sur Saone. We turned up without reservation and had no problem getting... More

Food is as good as it gets. Set menu at 36 euros was outstanding - 4 courses plus "amuse-bouche", and wine reasonably priced. Bedroom spacious and comfortable. Lovely old building (18th century) that has been encroached upon by an industrial estate, but has high walls to shut this out. Public areas internally feel very out of keeping with the rest... More
