La Pyramid is a place of mixed emotions and realities. The location is in a rather run down area of Vienne France. Yet the building complex is very well maintained and the grounds are manicured. The landscaping is formal and beautiful. The rock paths that surround the formally clipped box wood pyramids are even raked, echoing the actual Roman marble... More

Nothing about this hotel is average. The restaurant and bistro are excellent. The room we had was very nice. The staff at the hotel were charming. The location was just outside the city center. But, and this is a big but, the WiFi did not work except for maybe between 3 AM and 8AM and the air conditioning was feeble... More

We have stayed at la Pyramide on several occasions as it is quiet but very close to the Motorway when we are travelling south. The Gourmet restaurant has 2 Michelin stars which are well deserved as the Chef Patrick Henriroux is one of the top Chefs in Europe. On this occasion we took the Decouverte & Saveurs package which offered... More

While we have been returning repeatedly to the excellent restaurant of one of the very top French Chefs, M. Henriroux, for some twenty-five years, we always find the Hotel La Pyramide to be mightily disappointing (that is - when we are lazy to travel to Lyon and stay there after our dinner). We usually travel with a lot of luggage... More

The most important recommendation first: You MUST have a night cap in the hotel bar and drink one of the hundreds of Chartreuse from their unbelievable digestif list. You can then go to your spacious and comfortable room, which features a bit old-fashioned pink flowery design, at least ours did. The hotel is quite a walk away from the center... More

The Michelin 2-star resto was full by 9 pm - and no wonder. The food was fabulous. Four diners had all had the tasting menu. We ordered 1/2 bottles of wine for each course from the extensive wine list that was very fairly priced. We had discussed not eating all of each course. It didn't happen. The food was just... More

The room we had overlooking the large courtyard/restaurant area was large enough and comfortable. The decor was very individual with flowers painted on the cornices and individually designed curtains, old style French shutters and an adequate bathroom. Parking was also a bit eccentric, requiring a press on the bell to get to the carpark. The focus of the establishment is... More

We did spent 1 night there on our way to the south of France. The weather was not inviting, so we had more time in the Hotel. The location is just a bit off the center on a street, despite the limited space they have a private parking and a lovely garden if it is not raining. Our room was... More

We stayed one night here in May. Mixed feelings about this place. At the hotel itself there is an odd constrast between the modern decor of the public areas and the old-fashioned room decor. The rooms were comfortable, but the first one we were given wasn't clean: there was a strong bad smell in the toilet (this is strangely separate... More

We stayed at the Pyramid for two nights in April. This is a very special place - the rooms are spacious and well decorated; the courtyard a haven of peace and quiet. The emphasis is clearly on the food, which is, as advertised, exceptional. But the rates are high. (If you can, try for one of the weekend half-board specials.)... More
