Hotel de France is located near the old part of town, which by the way is a great place to hang out. Really nice room and bed. Mine was facing away from the city center and was really quiet. Parking in the backyard. Free wifi. Really great staff and I totally appreciated their restaurant recommendation. I had a great stay... More

we stayed here on our drive down to marseille. we got here very late about 2 o'clock in the morning and luckily the doorman was still there and also surprisingly extremely friendly around this time of the night! they only had the suite left so we got it at a reduced rate. the hotel seemed very nice and modern, recently... My partner is from Valence so we travel there 1-2 times per year. We recently completed our third stay at the Hotel de France and have had consistently positive experiences. All of the staff is very helpful and friendly. The rooms are not luxuriously but are nicely decorated and clean and neat. The location in the center of town is... More

I stayed in the Hotel de France in September 2013.I spent a couple of nights again in June 2014 while on a business trip. I loved this small hotel during my first stay there. This was gain the case the second time. The first thing I appreciate there is the staff. You are welcmed in this hotel as if you... More

Three star hotels are about the maximum you can find in the centre of Valence. And the Hotel de France is a typical representative of this class: minimal room dressing (there's no minibar, no doors on the locker,...), a bathroom that needs some freshening up, a slow wifi that disappears from time to time (fortunately it's free), no restaurant, a... Perfect for short stay, centre of everything on the main street but nice quiet room. Friendly staff happy to give restaurant recommendations and even had a drink paid for is at the restaurant, now that is hospitality! Limited amenities, ie no pool or gym but perfect base for business travel or exploring the region

Good hotel with secure and safe parking. As a solo motorcyclist it ticks all the boxes. Easy to find with hot bath and clean, comfortable bed. Friendly staff and a nice bar area for a cold beer. Very quiet at weekends- perfect! Good restaurants within 10 mins walk and a great breakfast.

A real gem for a 3 star hotel. Very chic interior, wonderful rooms, right in the centre near to the Rhône river. In - room tea and coffee facilities, buffet breakfast, and a very inviting Piano bar. The standard of fittings throughout the hotel are of the highest quality and it will most definitely be on my highly recommended list... More

Slightly above my normal price range, but it had been a tiring day and the price offered was €30 below the price posted outside. So for €100 we got a smallish double room with a big bed (excellent) comfortable mattress and duvet and four pillows! A bath and shower and a slightly cramped WC in the same room. A kettle... More
