We have just returned from a weeks stay at La Gelinotte, our first skiing trip and our first visit to the Alps. The chalet is a great place to stay in Val d'Isere, good location only a 5 min walk from the main village with a handy mini bus service to the slopes provided by Alpine Elements staff or there... Although this hotel could be very good, the lack of organisation and poor service lets it down. It would take too long to go into all the aspects of poor service, but the food was very hit and miss, and completely miss one night when the cooker broke down and it took the staff several hours before they would admit... Gelinotte had all the trappings of a great value hotel in an expensive resort but poor management/ service lets it down. Rooms - OK but there is a large gap between the quality of rooms on the same price band. Our friends' also had a twin room but they had a balcony, bath, and separate toilet/ bathroom none of which... After having been on many ski holidays staying in catered chalets and being used to friendly staff and great food, we decided to spend a little more in the hope of getting even more plus a pool! The building itself is lovely, good sized rooms, dimly lit but that seems pretty standard for french chalets! the pool is a great... More

Just back from a weeks stay at La Gelinotte. The Hotel was pretty much as expected for a French ski resort hotel i.e. compact bedrooms with just enough storage space. Rooms were warm and generally clean and tidy but dirty mugs would be left in the rooms after the morning clean. Towels weren't changed during the week which isn't very... More

The good: Rep and Hotel staff are very eager to impress, food quality is excellent, rooms are mostly good too. The OK: Hotel location is ok, but you will need to reserve a place on the 8 seat minibus to the slope in the morning, this done by putting your name down for one of the slot times which start... Just returned from a week skiing staying with alpine elements at this chalet hotel. Clean comfortable room (room 7 part of the old not refurbished part of the hotel). With bath shower and balcony, very quiet despite being full hotel. Lovely clean spa with steam and sauna and small pool with massage jets. The reason for feeding back on trip... More

An action packed adventure holiday we could have stayed for weeks. The staff were so lovely and incredibly helpful. The activities were so easy to access and great fun. The food and accommodation were terrific too-a wonderful place. Room 18 has a terrific view.

We were part of a group of 21 and had a fantastic holiday at la gelinotte, val d'isere. We stayed from 9-16 March 2014. The team at the Alpine Elements were so helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel was great and the food was delicious. We stayed in one of the new rooms, lovely room with great... More

We reserved our stay fairly last minute and for the price we paid I feel we got good value for money. The staff were super: friendly and attentive, and the food was good- better than I expected. The hotel is a little trek for the slopes, and the walk is a little arduous after a hard days skiing, but they... More
