This chalet hotel is ideally placed in the centre of the resort. To get to the slopes you have either a short walk past shops and bars or simply hop on a free bus outside the hotel to take you on a two minute trip to (and from) the slopes and lifts at La Daille. Inside the hotel the communal... More

Second trip to this hotel with Ski Esprit. Young staff all very enthusiastic and helpful. Rooms simple but clean. Very good location with bus stop right outside giving access to all lifts in Val and La Daille/Le Fornet. Bar prices high compared to happy hours at nearby bars. Breakfasts uninspiring. Welcome kettle of soup at high tea. Chef tries to... More

Thank you vetcoach for your recent review. It was great to read that the staff looked after you well and that you found the Chalet Hotel Ducs de Savoie to be well run and in an enviable location in this excellent resort. It's disappointing that you were uninspired by some aspects of the catering. Our Chefs work from our specially... More

Just returned from a fabulous break at the Ducs de Savoie. This was our third ski esprit, but first to Val Disere, and as our children are 11 and 12 we wondered if it might be our last, but after this experience we will try and get a few more years in! Firstly the chalet - fantastic location for both... More

Welcome home from your 3rd Esprit Ski holiday, anjsimnj! We're so glad that you had such a great time at the Chalet Hotel Ducs de Savoie, and that our staff there looked after you and your children well throughout the week, even tempting the girls to Cocoa Club! It's a shame that you felt that the information received from staff... More

Ducs de Savoie is a typical Esprit Chalet Hotel, in that it's a little tired looking, but the team are as always cheerful, happy to help and the food was really very good. We went in February 2015 so the team will likely be different this season, but as usual the childcare was impressive. Our group had 3 beginner children... More

This Chalet hotel is ideal for families, especially with young children. The service the staff provided was exceptional, especially the childcare. The food was very good and ample. We stayed in one of the new rooms, 12, which was spacious and well finished. It is above the garage, although we could occasionally here them moving tables in the restaurant next... More

This was our first Esprit ski holiday, and after years of doing our own thing weren't sure how it would be. However the recommendations from a few friends and acquaintances were that the childcare was second to none. The journey over was as pain free as can be imagined with 2 children who do suffer from travel sickness, we do... More

Thank you for taking the time to review your Esprit Ski experience, RicardoNewcastleUK. It's concerning that you've mentioned sickness in the property, as our resort team have no record of this, though they will of course follow our strict procedures should any illness be experienced by our guests at any time. It's unfortunate if some guests weren't considerate at afternoon... More

The Ducs de Savoie hotel is somewhat sagging at the knees, it has a careworn expression on it’s face and if one looks carefully you can see in your minds eye the good times that have etched those laughter and frown lines. So it could do with a facelift. A bit of cosmetic surgery to help it face life with... More

We're delighted that your first ever family ski holiday was enjoyed by all, so much so that you would consider booking with us again. We'd be happy to assist you in choosing an alternative location and property if certain aspects of the Ducs de Savoie were not quite what you were hoping for. More

Last years experience was really good, so decided to come back again this year, but not as good an experience. Room was OK, but not as much space as last time, we were spoilt with one of the suites, this time only had a room, Definitely don't recommend the rooms with the mezzanine, the steps/stairs/ladder are not very safe they... I have stayed here before and found it to be excellent with great provisions for the children, kiss club well organised and the rangers who look after the children well experienced. However, this year the trip was not adequate at all. The new layout with the bar area included next to the dining room makes for a very hectic, noisy... More

This was our first family holiday with our 2 year old. We chose this chalet hotel mainly because the nursery was on the top floor and also because we knew the ski area. The nursery staff were fantastic. We spent 40 minutes chatting to them on our son's frst morning there, talking through his likes and dislikes etc. We agreed... More
