On arrival to the hotel, I was impressed by how it is literally almost at the foot of the piste, ideal for skiing home in the afternoons! The interior of the hotel is a bit dated and could do with being refurbished, but it was very clean. We stayed over the Christmas week and had a blast! The food was... More

We had a fantastic week at the hotel. Thanks to the team there, particularly Jack and his hospitality in the bar (even if his music quiz was ridiculously hard!). Food was excellent especially given the numbers that were catered for, and the post ski soups were fantastic. The staff also dealt very professionally with the idiots who kicked off about... More

I went with minimal expectations I came away with an experience to remember. The food was absolutely divine (even for a vegetarian), service was spot on, and the staff were genuinely friendly and caring. Special mention to Kayleigh, the manager, who made us feel at home with her kindness. The location is also spot on, right in front of the... More

The hotel is in a great location, easy walk to the cable car and also the funicular railway, The 4 course meal we had every night (except Weds, chef night off) was amazing, there were 11 of us and in 6 nights not one complaint. Meal was washed down with good quality wines and ample of it :) You are... More

The anger that this hotel caused me leads me to believe that I could easily rant on and on, however those comments are best left to the company's discretion and will be dealt with at a higher level. Pro's: Clean and spacious rooms; excellent food; friendly low-level staff; enthusiastic and caring deputy manager; nice mid-day food provided (inc. homemade soup);... More

This was my first trip to Val d'Isere and I didn't know what to expect from a hotel as many of the other accommodation were chalets. I was out here for a business conference but I found time to go skiing as well and it was worth every penny! I was very impressed by the management team, they were very... More

This being our 2nd weeks skiing this year, we were looking for a bargain.... " we were not disapointed" fantasic location, at the base of the bubble lift.... (3 min flat walk...) Also a 1st class shuttle bus runs requently throughout the resort, departing out side the hotel. The hotel is dated & tired looking, its was clearly built on... More

After not expecting a great deal from this hotel I really couldn't have been more wrong. The location is perfect, a 3 minute walk to the train, 5 minute bus which stops outside the hotel to the nursery slopes and most importantly at the bottom of the slope leading down from The Folie Douce (or if you're too wobbly to... I, along with 7 friends spent a week at the hotel from the 9th to the 16th of February this year. The management were pleasant and the staff couldn’t do enough for the guests. It was obvious that they all worked very hard but it was also apparent that they worked together as a team. The food was excellent and... More

I stayed here in January on a boys' boarding holiday and it was so good I went back again in February with the other half. She is really picky and she loved it. The rooms are not huge and do not have televisions or tea facilities but they are clean, very warm and secure. Anyway, I didn't go to watch... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
In common with the rest of Val d’Isère’s La Daille area, the hotel might not win any awards for the cutest or prettiest exterior in the Alps, but as with all properties, it is the location that really counts! And that’s where the Champs Avalins really scores. You can ski back to within just 50m of the hotel, and each morning you have a choice of lifts right on hand to whisk you up the mountain. ... more   less
