The Abbey or Abbaye is a several hundred years old hotel and restaurant on Lake Annecy in the town of Talloires. Cezanne was a guest there one summer and painted the beautiful landscape and landmarks of the lake. So its no wonder the hotel sports an art gallery with some very cool pieces. Besides the hotel, there is the wonderful... More

Hello, I am not sure if we are the oldest hotel in France, one of them for sure, espacially if we take in consideration that the monks were the hoteliers too! Thank you for your compliments. This year we are celebrating 120 years of Cezanne's stay in Abbaye, we have created a special offer to honour this date! There will... More

The old Abbaye (it will celebrate its 1000th anniversary in 2018!) sits on the bay of Talloires in Lake Annecy. Undergoing a renovation now, the already lovely rooms will be even nicer in the spring of 2016. The Jean Reno Suite (one of the owners) is always a favorite. The restaurant has two rooms with vaulted ceilings and lots of... More

Beautiful and historic place. Charming grounds. Boats available but very expensive rental fees. Room is cozy and charming. Attentive staff. Enjoyed the cave bar downstairs in the evening. Parking on site.

Dear guest, come back when ever you can, we will be more than happy to greet you in Abbaye again! The boat rental can be of course expensive, depending on a boat, but there is always a possibility to find you a less expensive boat. And if you stay longer, there is a leisure card Talloires en liberté that allows... More

A peaceful, beautiful place. I stayed for a night and went to neighboring Auberge du Pere Bise next door for dinner. My room was amazing, the old prior's room (room 31) was a real piece of history. The view on the lake is very romantic and the staff smily and courteous. They had a wedding going on so the atmosphere... More

Dear guest, thank you for your stay. I am glad you have appreciated the "Prior's room", some of our clients think it is too mysterious: it really is a museum piece that remained the way it was bueilt in 1681!! I think it is a very special experiance. I love our gin tonics myself, lovely to have it on the... More

We stayed at the Abbeye as we were visiting Tufts Universiy's French campus in Talloire. Our GPS couldn't take us directly to the address on the website as the street isn't open to cars which was a bit of a problem. However, a quick call to the hotel and better directions brought us to this charming location. I had booked... More

Dear guest, thank you so much for describing your experience. We were delighted to be able to host you during your stay in Talloires. You are right, some of the lake view rooms (6 all together!) are rather tiny with only 20 m², please do not forget they used to be the cells of the monks. The garden rooms are... More

Dear guest, in fact Abbaye de Talloires is a fairy tale venue for the weddings, but not just: if you would have more time then you could have discovered the surroundings with all the sport, historical or cultural offers. Great great great hotel. Rooms are somewhat old fashioned but in my taste. View is worth a million dollars. Food of the wedding (prepared by venue) and service were outstanding.
