We arrived in heavy snow and did not get to leave this grand old house, made the best of Catherine's hospitality for a lovely evening in. What a beautiful home restored with love and fantastic ambience. Great breakfast served in the dining room. Would love to come back

This elegant, beautifully restored house is conveniently located near the town centre, but is quiet and peaceful. We were warmly welcomed by Catherine and her architect husband. Our spacious room was tastefully furnished and comfortable. The breakfasts and dinners were superb, served in a very elegant dining room. Villa Roassieux is close to Firminy where we visited major works of... More

Stayed only one night - but would have been happy to stay longer in this beautiful house. Very well decorated bedroom with comfortable bed. So interesting to see the history of the house and how it had been renovated. Quite a walk into the centre - unfortunately we stayed on a Sunday night and nothing was open, we had to... More

Located in the city centre, near Cours Fauriel, but in a very calm area, this early 20th century guest house provides a very good ratio cost/quality. My room was decorated in the French traditional baroque style, with a modern bathroom and a good range of amenities. Bed and pillows are fine and I did sleep very well. Breakfast is excellent... Let's be honest, we're not really B & B people, but were blown away by the rooms and grandeur of this charming former silk merchant's maison. We stayed overnight in the middle of a week in Lyon, mainly to have a look at the (largely disappointing) Musée d’Art Moderne. The town is worth a visit for it's bustling old town... More

Catherine and her husband were wonderful hosts, doing what ever they could to accomodate our needs. The Villa is very large with incredibly grand rooms but still feels very cosy and warm. It is close enough to walk to the downtown area depending on how much walking you want to do however you can catch a bus several streets away.... More
