This is a charming hotel with lovely rooms and welcoming hosts. When we first saw the room we booked, we decided it was too small, and the proprietors immediately moved us into a larger room. The larger room was well worth the difference in price. Breakfasts in the morning were a treat, with a wide assortment of food and great... More

The staff at Hotel Celestins are what made our stay so enjoyable. They were most helpful with recommending & booking restaurant - particularly when our first choice was closed on the night. Their recommendation turned out to be excellent. The room we were given was small, but was sufficient space for our needs. The bathroom had been renovated and the... More

Don't pass up an opportunity to stay in this hotel when visiting Lyon. The location couldn't be better--within walking distance of restaurants, cafes, shopping, and tourist sites. The rooms are large by European standards, tastefully decorated, comfortably furnished, and spotlessly clean. An ample and good breakfast is served in a pleasant room. But what makes this charming hotel exceptional is... More

The staff couldn't have been more helpful arranging a taxi to the airport and offering advice on where the locals eat. Our room had a view of the Opera House - just beautiful at night. It is centrally located and easy walking distance to all the important sites.

Great hotel! Location - awesome. Rooms - spacious. Management - welcoming. Ticks every box. It's a cool and quirky place. Lots of windy stairs like so many of these old buildings but there is an elevator. The room was classical but in total contrast the bathroom was new, fresh and hot pink. Our room had windows opening on to Rue... More

Wonderful small hotel in perfect location - close to all the sights in lovely Lyon and to the metro. Charming French elevator, well decorated breakfast room with great selection of food, very helpful and friendly staff. A perfect place to stay in Lyon.

Tiny, tiny elevator and a tiny room. At least they had an elevator and we were ok with the room since were were only staying one night. Everything about this hotel is very secure. You must be buzzed in from the street (or use your key after hours), use a key to access the hallway to your room and then,... More

This hotel is close to everything. The staff was great at making recommendations to eat and making reservations at restaurants. We went to Restaurant Les Adrets for lunch. Halfway through our meal, we made reservations for the next day. Lunch is 18 euros and includes wine.

Perfect location, lovely view, clean rooms, helpful and kind staff. Delightful breakfast also! My second and certainly not last time booking at this hotel. Within short walking distance to lots of landmarks, including Old Lyon. Also, two minute walking distance from Metro, which is easy to navigate anywhere. For me, this is the ideal location.

With plenty of time to explore the city, the Hotel des Celestins was prefect base of operations. With great breakfast treats and good advice about dinning, the food thing was enjoyable. I learned I am not a gourmet and I like French food, English menu is a really good have. The street trollies are a fine way to see the... More
