First of all - there are nearly 250 stairs down to the main street in Old Lyon below. So, consider that you'll likely be walking down then up twice a day. The hotel rooms are great, although ours had a hand spray instead of a shower head. But, otherwise, was really nice. The pool is small but has a great... More

a nice property in an old convent overlooking lyon. it is an "old style" hotel with good service and comfortable rooms overlooking lyon. the hardware does deserve "only" a 4 but the view makes up for it and makes me give it a 5.

this is our second time at the hotel - we returned as we loved the location nad had a great stay 2 years before. The service was very friendly and professional and the welcome drink of champagne was spot on. We had the same room which was very nice but the air conditioning struggled to keep up with the heat.... We splurged a bit one this one, and I'm glad we did. This hotel was superb in every way ! You pay top $, but you also get top $. Villa Florentine is a converted 17th century convent, which is situated on a hill overlooking the old city (vieux Lyon). It is a 5-minute walk down some steep flight of... More

Beautiful hotel above the old town, easily reached by foot, if you don't mind steps, or a taxi. Rooms well decorated but dark and quite small. Tiny window overlooking old town. Small but rather lovely pool area, with bar and terrace. Staff always very helpful with restaurant recommendations, taxi bookings etc. Perfect for a couple of nights away but not... More

Our stay in Villa Florentine was very relaxing.. The hotel is small and intimate and thus perfectly complements the city of Lyon.. The front desk staff and concierge was extremely friendly and helpful with every request whether it was was local sightseeing, finding a restaurant or getting to the airport.

We came to Lyon for a weekend trip with friends who live in Switzerland in order to try some amazing food in Lyon, and Villa Florentine was centrally located. We stayed here for two nights in a suite which was very spacious and had a really nice bathroom. We had a very good breakfast on the roof overlooking the city... More

the location is stunning! Up on the hill overlooking Lyon and the Saone River. Great location for exploring Old Lyon and generally very convenient for all else. Quality staff and service and beautiful interior . We had booked classic room which although very well appointed and comfortable to a high standard it faced the rear and was quite dark. Next... We stayed here for three nights (and have stayed before). This time we had room 2 which we would ask for again as it had an enormous terrace overlooking the city with great views. Not a good place for people that don't like steps as there are steps everywhere. I walked from the hotel to the other side of the... More

The staff in the breakfast room was amazing. Very nice maitre d'. However, the breakfast, especially for the price was amazingly limited. If you do not eat sugar, then all you were left with was bread and butter, with some poor quality fruit. Everything else was loaded with sugar. They did have decent coffee. The rooms were a bit shabby... More
