I had an impromptu stay at Hotel de la Croix Rousse this week. I booked a room on sale online for 50 euros that night and showed up around 9pm. The guy at the desk had called me on my way to give me the night code for the door in case I didn't make it before closing time. The... More

The hotel is OK. But be careful when choosing a room since NOT all the rooms are redecorated yet and do not resemble the pictures on the hotel's website! Also, the tariff list in the rooms is outdated, which may be a bit confusing. The breakfast selection is quite good and a real plus is the check-out time at midday.

Located on top of the Croix Rousse, a few dozen stairs from the Place du Hôtel de Ville (city hall). Great price, tiny room with bathroom and wifi, good breakfast with croissants, cheeses, yogurt, canned fruit ... Friendly receptionist. Some rooms may be renovated according to what I see in some photos, not ours :( Parking nearby. Recommended for young... More

A good hotel, friendly staff clean rooms. Situated on the main road it can be noisy if your room over looks the road. But the positive of this is that you have a stunning view across Lyon. There is a spectacular set of steps going down into the old town but they aren't quite so much fun on the way... More

We stayed in lyon for three nights with our two dogs. The staff were really friendly and helpful and made us all feel very welcome. Decor was lovely in the rooms, reception and breakfast room. A little tired in the corridors but that's hardly a big deal. The rooms are quite small, but they have everything you need, including a... More

We were visiting my niece in Rillieux-la-Pape and Initially planned to stay 3 nights. We left after the first night because of the very miserable status of the room and surroundings. Not sure this hotel is respecting the safety standards. No problem to get our deposit back. Reception desk OK. We changed for the IBIS.

We chose this hotel because we were visiting relatives who lived around the corner. The next time we go back to Lyon, we will stay elsewhere and take the metro if needed. The hotel is very, very basic. The only thing good about it is the price. We were told it had been recently renovated. They should have done more.... More

Great location for ease of getting to Opera Lyon. Quiet but near bars and restaurants. Helpful, friendly staff. Basic continental beakfast, but nice artisan boulangerie nearby with great cakes and sandwiches.

We picked this place because we were on a tight budget and this place was the closest to the center of town for a reasonable price. It wasn't amazing, but we were happy with it overall. The location was the best thing. From the hotel walking it takes about 15 minutes to get into the center of town. There is... More

My husband and I were pleased to have found a hotel in a completely untouristy neighborhood. It's two minutes to the nearest subway station, so we were able to get around Lyon (on a metro day-pass) with ease. There were some difficulties that were not exactly the hotel's fault, but they could have been a bit more sympathetic to a... More
