Pros: - Perfect location for exploring Lyon. In the middle of the shopping and restaurant district and 5 min walk to the old town. - Excellent breakfast. Lots of local cheeses and ham, pancakes and great coffee. - WiFi worked flawlessly - Professional and helpful staff - Comfortable beds Cons: - Swimming pool is just ridiculous. Nobody over 6 years... There are a lot of plus points to this hotel – good central location, just around the corner from La Place des Terreaux and La Musee des Beaux Arts, pleasant, unstuffy staff, comfortable and reasonably priced bar, great breakfast (at an extra 15 Euros, admittedly), inoffensive décor and relatively quiet air conditioning. The standard rooms are a little on the... More

Myself wife and parents recently visited Lyon and stayed in this hotel for 5 nights. The hotel is in a very convenient location close to all the main areas in Lyon with good public transports links close by. The rooms are ok, both couples booked the comfort rooms and one room was much better than the other. Our room was... More

Just spent 3 nights at this beautiful hotel. Everything about it exudes charm and class. The reception staff are all so lovely and welcoming and very helpful. Service in the breakfast room by the two waiters was friendly and efficient and the lady who cleaned our room did her job to a high standard and was lovely too. Loved our... More

A well placed and priced hotel - with an interesting past - in central Lyon. Just be aware the pool is more of a big hot tub than a pool. Staff are friendly and speak good English (if you need them to). Rooms are a good size with air con, which was surprisingly welcome this April. Ensuite bathroom is generous... More

Right in the historic heart of Lyon, with reasonable walks to main attractions of the city. A fine selection of restaurants for all budgets are close by and if shopping is your thing then these are close by as well. Rooms are well appointed and of a reasonable size. I would like a kettle & cups in the room but... More

This hotel is in great situation behind the Place de Terreaux and is really very charming. I absolutely loved the unusual swimming pool. The hotel is built in/on an old cloister and the swimming pool is downstairs under the original stone arches. The Jacuzzi in particular is in a genuine grotto.. with coloured lights reflecting on the stone roof, quite... More

Lets face it - hotels in France are not great in general. Standard is rather poor and service is.. french. Having that in mind I wasn't expecting much from my stay in Lyon. However, what I have experienced was beyond my belief. Quality standards in Grand Hotel were absolutely top notch. Staff was very friendly and most helpful. Wi-Fi worked... More

A lovely hotel an excellent breakfast. The pool was not big but you could swim and it was a lovely area to be in. The staff were helpful and friendly. The room was a delight and the beds comfy. Everthing was great.

This hotel is centrally located, within walking distance to most attractions and sites. The room size wasn't too bad, but there was no tea or coffee making facilities (it might be a minor inconvenience, but when it's cold and you've returned in the rain it can make a difference). The safe was also super small. Also be aware that some... More
