Very centrally located hotel in a pedestrian street, a 6 minute walk from Perrache TGV station. Close to shops, restaurants and sights. Vieux Lyon only 4-5 minutes away. Nice 19th century building. Spacious and comfortable rooms with airconditioning. Good bathroom. Everything was very clean. Good breakfast with a great selection of ham, yam, bread, cheese etc. Staff offered good service.... more

I spent 6 nights at the La Residence and couldn't be happier. My room was spacious and lovely, spotlessly clean, and well maintained. The staff was friendly and responsive. On check in, a wonderful young woman provided me with a map of the city, suggestions of places to see and eat, and happy to answer all my questions. The location... more

This was a good choice for a 1 night stay in Lyon. Very close to shops and restaurants near Place Bellacour. The hotel appears to be on a street which doesn't allow cars (at least to an American) but alas you can drive up and park outside the hotel to unload. We made the mistake of parking in Place Bellacour... more

This was our second stay. We asked for a quiet room and were given number 302, overlooking the courtyard. It was a four bed room. Two bunk beds in a room between the main room and the bathroom and an enormous and extremely comfortable bed in the large main bedroom. The bathroom had a big corner bath, with jaccuzi /... more

Excellent place where to stay. Great location and helpful staff. The price was ood but you have to check because sometime it changes in the weekend. The weekend is more expensive (like most of the places in Europe). To return. more

Hotel La Residence was quite nice - a tiny bit worn compared to the sparkling new north american hotels I usually stay in, but actually quite charming. I'd suggest getting a room that overlooks the courtyard even though the view's not as pretty as the street can be a bit noisy - voices just echo! It is on Rue Victor... more

The hotel is situated in a pedestrianised street halfway between two metro stations. Arriving at the main railway station we took a taxi though, and it had permission to get to the front door of the hotel. Check in was very professional as were all the dealings with the reception staff. The room was perfectly adequate for two but by... more

La Residence is a hotel that caters largely to business travelers. It is located on Rue Victor Hugo, a relatively quiet walking street. It is a short walk from the Place Bellecour Metro station and tourist office. The Old Town and Textile museum are a 10 minute walk away. Staff are helpful in finding good neighborhood restaurants. We enjoyed La... more

My two adult daughters and a friend stayed in Hotel La Residence for 3 nights, May 10 to 13th. We found the staff to be very helpful. The location was perfect. We were just a few blocks from the rail station, the airport shuttle, and the metro system. The hotel is on a pedestrian street and the other buildings near... more

We liked the location of the hotel (easy to get to metro stations!), many restaurants/shopping nearby and loved our room (the small balcony was lovely). What we didn't like was the noise from the pedestrian street in front of the hotel. We slept with ear plugs in and were fine, but even on an upper floor you will hear people... more
