Great location near the centre of Lyon. Some nice streets with shops in the surrounding. The rooms of hotel Helder are ok. Not very big, but big enough. The sanitair is very clean. Staff speaks English.

nothing special in any directions but no big disappointments either. enjoyed the (very small) bathtub after a long car drive. the bed was comfortable, the rooms was clean. there was a tiny tv screen mounted, but since we hardly ever watch tv no downside for us. you had abit street noise, but then again its very central and easy to... Very good location, walking distance to the center of the city. Lyon is very old and beautiful. Had trouble with "my french" and the hotel workers... but we ended understanding each other. Very clean, good shower... nice triple room.

There was a statement which could lead to misunderstandings of the breakfast, where initially I thought they provide breakfast but happens to be they don't.. There were no iron and iron board too which is not good for people traveling which requires self ironing of clothes..

stayed 3 nights ...very good deal booked online, Reception staff all very good, bit of a rough area but we had no problems even walking back at 11pm, Pretty good location, room small but a huge deep bath with plenty of hot water, no complaints, never had breakfast there, would stay there again if the price was right

I had a double room, very closely. TV only had French programs. Cleanliness was in full grain size. My room faced the courtyard, unfortunately the track kitchen, because it smelled a little, but very quiet. Some refurbishment, the rooms were. My room had a bathtub. Unfortunately there were no pillows, only a long roll. Breakfast was simple but sufficient water.

I booked this hotel before reading the reviews and nearly cancelled.... We stayed one night. It was adequate for one night, but for a longer stay we'd have booked somewhere closer to the sights. the location was good for us as we had a River Cruise booked and it is close to Quai Claude Bernard where the ships dock. We... More

Reception is welcoming. We stay at two differnt rooms and they both was facing to back court yard , but Guest weare opening their Windows and all the noise travel throug other rooms, couldn't sleep. It was a good deal but not a long stay. Location looks rough but we did not have any problem. By the Hotel to Walker... More

Saw bad reviews of this place and was dreading staying there, but found it perfectly pleasant. I didn't pay to stay here out of my own pocket so won't comment on value for money. Room was basic but a decent size & clean. Area of town seemed perfectly normal, not scary/grimy as suggested - I walked back at 4.30am with... More

Dated and in a dodgy part of town but within walking distance of everywhere. Breakfast was nice but rooms and bathrooms poor. Uncomfortable beds and housekeeping didn't always show up. If on a tight budget and not fussy then it's ok otherwise avoid if at all possible
