The location of the hotel is very central and near to many shops and restaurants, which compensates somewhat for the difficulty to get a table at the attached Paul Bocuse Institute restaurant. The bedrooms are comfortable and nicely furnished, albeit a little dated. Bathrooms are also very dated, and there are no walk in showers. The breakfast is good quality,... More

Good location and nice interior but bed linen is not the best and bathrooms unfortunatelly could be better - there was no walk-in showers. Breakfast served in nice room - home style but looked like there were not many options - like everything was in tiny portions...I think it is overrated. You can stay for almost half of the money... We are enjoying three nights at this extremely very welcoming hotel...The service is outstanding,even managing to secure a table at the restaurant of Paul Bocuse with only one day's notice..to achieve that on Valentine's Day is a miracle.. I love Lyone so almost any hotel in center will be good for me. Almost any. Royal hotel is situated in very center of Lyon. With wonderful views over Bellecour and towards Fourviere it;s location is difficult to beat. The room provided was excellent, it's not often you get his and her bathrooms !
