Well located , close to the Perrache railway station where you will find almost anything a simple voyager may need. The lobby lounge is correct. Enjoy a drink on the outdoor gardens scattered on calm and well kept pátios and terraces. The rooms are comfortable but the air conditioning was out of order for the last two days of our... More

In my experience Best Western Hotels are always querky and Charlemagne is no exception. The basic issue here is 'location, location, location'. The visitor needs to be aware there are two railway stations in Lyon and the TGV stops at both. Most people disembark at Lyon-Part Dieu and after you've found a ticket machine, that's an eight stop tram ride... More

The hotel is situated in a central area not far from the water front where the working girls display their wears. Lots of restaurants nearby and a convenience store for water and little items that you don't want to pay hotel prices for. The hotel room was newly furnished and I was situated on the 6th floor. The room was... More

Lovely hotel with great, caring and helpful staff. Our first night was spent in a room on the 'garden' side overlooking the church (be warned the clock chimes every fifteen minutes - although not late at night or early in the morning). This room was on the first floor and overlooked a playground which was very busy until well after... More

Perrache area is nowadays becoming more fashionable and vivid. Still the traffic is quite reasonable, but public transport works efficiently. Many bakeries and couple of good restaurants just around the corner. Hotel itself has Art Deco style public areas and well kept garden and terrace. Business rooms are located in a separate building with narrow unfurnished balconies. Rooms have separate... More

I stayed in this hotel for 4 days on a BA City Break from London and it was a relaxing good trip enhanced by the experience of this good hotel. The best thing is that my room is spacious, may I say double the size of many comparable London hotels which also charge double! My room even has a balcony... More

OK, after reading the reviews on here, we were a bit worried booking our 3-night stay here... with 2 kids under the age of four, but Wow, we had a great stay! Our quiet room in the detached building had enough space for the 2 baby beds and our queen, and our balcony faced the courtyard. The bathroom was very... More

Judging by the hotel standards in France this was a good experience. Although not the most centrally located, it is a good location when travelling by car, with plenty of parking spaces available in the nearby. Place Bellecour is a 15 minutes walk and a taxi from most central locations will not charge you more than 7-10 Euro (tip included).... More

Staff was very helpful..that is it Room is the size of a large walk in closet. Almost trip over the TV WiFi connection needed login every time it was used. That was convenient. Only Best Western I've stayed in where you were charged for continental type breakfast..And expensive too. And the location.....questionable with the ladies of the nite around the... More

This hotel doesn't care about its patrons. First, the location is not the best, second their restaurant recommendations are terrible and the directions they give to get to a restaurant has you walking all over the place asking for help. The reporting of issues doesn't get any response. I will not recommend this hotel. The air conditioner didn't work and... More
