In a business trip to Lyon, I stayed at Best Western Charlemagne for five nights in February. Location: only a few minutes walk from TGV Perrache Station. You can hop on a tram from the stop in front of the hotel (Suchet) and reach Debourg or Part-Dieu without change, which is convenient. For daily shopping, the Confluence Shopping Centre is... More

Comfortable room with a balcony overlooking the church and leafy grounds. Large French doors opening to the balcony were very welcome in hot weather. Breakfast was excellent and plentiful in a large room opening onto courtyard giving the option to have a relaxed open air breakfast. A large outdoor seating area and covered walkway between accommodation blocks, with plants and... More

We stayed here for 2Nights and wouldn't go there again. The hotel is located close to the Railwaystation Perache and you can easily walk in the center or take tram or metro. The breakfast area is quiet and nicely decorated. The variety and freshness of food was average. Unfortunately from our room we looked into a busy street. Although our... More

Located near the station, in maybe a not so nice place but 10 minutes walking from the center. Nice room, modern furniture. I had a bad experience with the electronic key not working, I had to come back to reception for 3 times, bringing my luggage! Then they accompanied me to the room, and came other 2 times to try... We only stayed one night but the overall impression was good. Friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast, very comfortable room, easy on street parking and a short walk to the centre. There is a deal with a private car park but as it was just one night we popped a couple of Euros in the meter for the hour or... More

The location is excellent, near everything, but most rooms are VERY small - there was no space to open my luggage. Some rooms are renovated but are still small, some have balcony. Finally got a room on 4th floor with balcony which was a bit larger. There is no fridge in the rooms, nor minibar. The breakfast is very basic,... More

Stayed here for 6 nights attending a work training course in November. I probably wouldn't have selected it otherwise and while the staff were professional, I wouldn't say anyone was overly friendly or welcoming (no one was rude, it was just very official). When attempting to book it took two unanswered e-mails (through their website) before I got a response,... More

Old fashioned room decoration, everything is just OK, but you can see that it's all a bit old. Plenty of little details were not up to the standard one would expect of a hotel that declares to be ****: noisy room until I discovered it was the heating in the bathroom that caused the noise, the TV was unusable as... The hotel is well located near Perrache train station. The staff is very friendly. Our room and bed were small but comfortable. But even if we stayed there in October and we turned the air-conditioning on, it was very hot in the room. And as we arrived late on a sunday night, we didn't want go out to have dinner... More

After staying at this hotel for 3 nights, was pleasantly surprised. Very close to the Perrache station. Did not see any ladies of the night near the station which I had been forewarned about! Clean, breakfast very good and a huge variety. Well worth the money!
