We just came back from staying at the Mercure Lemaire. While perhaps not being in downtown Lyon, it was still in the city limits and very close to the metro station. We had a very quiet room, well furnished, it slept well and excellent AC. The front desk people no matter which shift were extremely friendly and helpful. We rented...

Very close to the Metro although need a transfer from the TGV train station. Not so attractive neighborhood, but easy to get around to the tourist area by the Metro. Stayed in the privilege room which has the coffee machine with coffee pods. Asked for a tea kattle and the staff brought up right away. Asked for a triple room...

Lovely clean and comfortable rooms, bed very comfortable and staff helpful. Great location for us near to our daughter's apartment.
Bar prices VERY expensive though - only down side.

Walking from the hotel to the centre of Lyon (downtown) takes about 30 minutes. However, the hotel is located close to the metro station (about a 3 minute walk), which means you´ll have access to most parts of the city within few minutes.
The hotel was under renovation as I was visiting. Although I didn´t notice much of the works...

Central Lyon was booked out so I tried the suburbs. Lumiere is the home of cinematography ( visit the marvelous museum!) ...6 mins on nearby train to city centre...best train service I have ever seen...cheap, unmanned trains and stations and very efficient ( who knew Lyon would have a world-best?). The hotel is really for visiting businessmen-hence the extra $-...

Although the hotel is nice, clean, with big rooms, and the staff very helpful, I would say that it is too expensive. It was about 150,00 euro per night for a single room. The rooms are furnished in a modern style, but there is not a mini-bar in the room. The breakfast was not included in the price of the...

Stayed at the Mercure Lumiere in August 2004. Renovations must have obviously been made since then by reading other reviews. The room was small, the bathroom dirty, the mini bar filthy and the staff grumpy. No charm whatsoever.

We stayed at the Mercure Lumiere during the Rugby World Cup.
So a very busy time for Lyon.
The bathroom looked brand new, though I'm guessing they hadn't had time to fit a shower door, so the bathroom flooded a little.
The room was lovely and spacious.
The staff was very accommodatiing
The bed was super comfy.
Would definately stay...
